"Allah, there is no deity except Him (God), the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him (God) nor sleep. To Him (God) belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him (Allah) except by His (Allah) permission? He (Allah) knows what is [presently] before them and what will be them. And they encompass not a thing of His (Allah) knowledge except for what He (Allah) wills. The chair (power or throne) God extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."
My wife kept repeating her reading. While lightning continues to grabbing on the sky on the island Marina. Strong wind did not rest, as if to tear anyone who passed. High intensity rain then following. Bad weather. As bad as the heart of someone who is out of love.
I paused. Silent. Looked at the children and the wife. My brain keeps turning. I'm think if the weather like this, then Joseph will cancelled pick up my family. I'm sure because ships can not sail. Especially if the storm. The sea must be angry, and able to tear anyone who is in his body.
From a distance, the sound of the call to prayer from the direction of the mosque. "Prayer is better than sleep," came a very melodious muezzin. The wind, the rain and the lightning seemed to stop.
I hurried to the bathroom. Purify and perform the dawn prayers. My wife followed. While our children are still asleep.
6:30 AM. The weather got worse again. Wind and lightning seem to compete for the universe. I turned on the radio on my smartphone. Looking for a little information about the conditions on the mainland.
Like my prediction. Bad weather also hit the mainland. "Ten houses in the coastal area collapsed, as do dozens of power poles and coconut trees falling along the route to the capital, authorities have asked everyone to stay in their homes for fear the weather will continue to deteriorate until noon. The government also bans fishermen in sea, current wave height is estimated to reach 2 to 3 meters on the beach ... "
I took a deep breath. We have to survive on this island with weather conditions like this. Suddenly my phone rang. WhatsApp message came from Yusuf "Sorry, no ship is sailing today, syahbandar canceled all the voyages due to bad weather, I live in the harbor, in case the weather gets brighter in the next few hours."
I understand Yusuf's condition. There can be no ships that anchor off with this condition. My wife also understands this condition. I then replied to Yusuf's message, "Waiting in. It's okay Yusuf, it's worse in the Marina since dawn, do not force it if weather is like this."
"Ok, brother," Joseph replied.
The sky is still dark. While it was 8 AM. Lightning is gone. The wind is not angry anymore. Only rain that is still faithful to wet the earth.
The shoots of mahogany leaves look crying. A few broken mahogany branches pierced the ground.
I'm out. At the homepage, cool air pierced the lungs. I picked up a cigarette lighter. Burning a cigarette, and inhale the smell of tobacco. "Fuuuhhh .." smoke came out of my mouth and nose. I glanced at the android and opened the search engine. "Marina Library". I just type in the search engine. There are 20 articles appearing in search engines with the keyword Pustaka Marina. I open them one by one. Wish there was something that could add my insights about Marina Island.
Of all the searches, I just found the address of Marina Library building. The rest of the many articles that just describe the existing literature in Marina library. "A dead end."
The children's voices sounded cheerfully from inside the inn. The eldest and his brother ran before my wife. As usual, my children are very difficult to take a shower in the morning. My daughter in the action escaped from his mother, even ran to the porch to embrace me. I laughed at their behavior.
"I'm don't want to take a bath," cried the youngest.
I got up from the porch seat. Seeing the youngest running out of the bedroom, down the hallway toward me. Her face looked frightened, she's run from her mother's hand. However, "gedubraaakkk." The youngest fell. [] (to be continued)
