The Door of the Sea of Calm
For a long time it was discussed among astroarchaeologists and biologists of the division of environmental engineering, whether it was right to intervene, even only for academic interests, in those worlds in which there were samples of intelligent alien life, which had disappeared.
Although it was more or less common to find microscopic life forms, to a lesser extent complex and in less than ten times, life that showed signs of complex intelligence, only on one occasion was found the case of an inhabited planet with abundant life forms, in which evidence was found of having existed some kind of intelligent life, which, for some unknown reason, had disappeared completely.
Belenus, even today, is a source of intrigue for archaeologists, who under the strongest opposition of the division of biology, undertook in the past an intense exploration of every corner of the planet, in search of the reason for the disappearance of the ancient settlers, of the ruins that were found all over the place.
The ancient settlers of this world, built buildings that were believed could have ceremonial purposes, perhaps temples of some kind, located mainly on the coasts of the two continents of the planet.
Great stone constructions, today almost totally demolished, accompanied by what seemed to be flattened and leveled lands, generally of circular form, that were dated in more than eight hundred thousand years of antiquity, were the legacy of this mysterious culture.
One of the most impressive and most researched is the so-called Puerta del Mar de la Calma, a garden of collapsed columns, accompanied by the remains of what could be the entrance to an ancient palace in ruins or a fortified citadel.
One of the peculiarities of this alien building is that the only remains of what appeared to be the ancient settlers were found there. Beings of similar appearance to the old terrestrial pterosaurs, only that, endowed with an additional pair of extremities, that perhaps did the times of arms or front legs, of long neck and rounded head, it is not known if they were able to walk erect, in which case they could reach the two and half meters of height.
The remains of five of these creatures were found, carefully preserved in tight spherical containers, built of ceramics and buried near the coast, a few meters from the ruins of the door, this has been the only burial of this type that has been found throughout the planet.
