I'm Ethan Smith, and this is The STEEM Engine Express

Today's Express takes a look at various travel destinations across the globe, seen via accounts from passengers on the STEEM Engine.

We begin by traveling to Split, Croatia, where passenger @dejan.vuckovic takes us on a photographic journey through the coastal city, which sits on a peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. Boasting a population of over 350,000, Split has many popular tourist destinations, but the focus of Dejan's visit was the palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian. This blog features many fantastic pictures of the palace as well as a history of Diocletian and his rule, so I encourage you to read this post and take a journey to the fourth century A.D.

It may be winter here in the United States, but that hasn't stopped passenger @insideoutlet from enjoying the Australian summer. In her latest blog, @insideoutlet shares photos from her recent summer hike through the Ellis Brook Reserve, a recreational area that offers four different trails to choose from. We embark with @insideoutlet and her sister as they brave the Sixty Foot Falls trail. You'll see plenty of photographs from their journey, including one looking down on the city of Perth. Do they make it to the waterfall? You'll have to read the blog to find out!

A journey across England has recently taken passenger @oen to both the Hepworth Wakefield Art Gallery and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Sharing many photos from both locales, @oen highlights some of the incredible art and architecture he's recently seen. If you're planning a trip, be sure to set aside a day, as the Yorkshire Park alone is gigantic and has many sculptures to see. @oen offers some great photos and information about both locations, so if you enjoy art and architecture, be sure to check out these blogs to learn about these great locations in the UK.

Texas is one of the largest states in the US, which means there are plenty of destinations to visit. Long time passenger @sultnpapper takes it upon himself to review various Texas destinations based on local BBQ restaurants. This week was no different, as @sultnpapper set out for San Antonio's Blanco BBQ. This particular installment of the ongoing series, "Will Eat BBQ 4 U" features an opening anecdote that's worth a blog of its own, so if you want to hear a little about San Antonio and a lot about BBQ, check out @sultnpapper's blog, specifically his post "My Niche - My first Texas BBQ Review," which gives a great overview of his monthly BBQ reviews!

Finally today, we head to Ollantaytambo, Peru, where passenger @coldsteem outlines his experience with Awamaki Tours, an organization which coordinates tours rooted in local culture. Awamaki Tours is a nonprofit company that provides local craftswomen with an income from their fees. ColdSteem's post is a fantastic look into the culture of Peru, and he offers many great photographs of the scenery and crafts. I believe Awamaki tours would be a fantastic organization to schedule a tour with if you are ever visiting Peru, so I hope you'll come to the same conclusion and plan a trip soon!

That's all for today's curation segment, so down the tracks we go to today's Featured Station. The @mitneb curation trail project has been featured before on the Express, but it now has a home on Discord. Passenger @mitneb seeks to curate users who speak English as a second language, and she does a great job of promoting new users from around the globe. If English isn't your first language, or you would like to support an international effort, head over to @mitneb's profile and join her Discord server today!

The STEEM Engine Express features five of the best posts curated by the STEEM Engine each week across the Steemit platform. The Express is produced by Ethan D. Smith exclusively for The STEEM Engine initiative on Steemit.com, and is featured throughout the week on the SteemStar.net radio network.

Thanks for my addition in your collection for this week's podcast, this is the first time DSound has actually worked for me so I love that you had other options available.

You're very welcome! I'm glad you got DSound to work. I've heard various people say that they've had trouble with it, which is why I've included other ways to listen from the beginning. I always enjoy posts about hiking, so thank you for sharing!

Thank you very much for this feature, really appreciate it!

You're welcome! I hope I didn't botch the pronunciation of your name. haha

I definitely enjoyed your travel blog. I hope more people come check it out!

Haha... well it was recognizable ;) Don't bother,Slavic names are nightmare even for Slavic people :D

I thought about contacting you beforehand, but sometimes time zones don't match up, and I like to surprise people with their inclusion into the podcast. I'm glad it was at least recognizable. Haha

Always a pleasure to get a ticket on the express, thanks for conducting this very good podcast, lots of great material you placed on the train.

It's always great to be able to feature your work! I'm glad you enjoyed the podcast and the other material. There always seem like so many great posts to choose from when I'm preparing these.

There are a ton of great pieces of work to feed the Express, I am glad I don't have to make the decisions on the selection process. I don't think anyone could argue that point with a straight face either on the quality of the materials being written by our members.

Really appreciate the transcript of the podcast, I'm much better at reading the black and white print than listening to stuff! When I'm listening, my mind wanders off so easily!
Feeling well-travelled after 'visiting' Split, Perth, Texas and Peru! Lucky enough to have been to Perth - spent a fabulous summer there apple picking and packing - Happy Days! :-)

Thanks so much for stopping by to read the transcript! I've very much enjoyed the audio aspect of these podcasts, but I got great feedback at the beginning for including a transcript, as there are many users like you who prefer to read things!

I'm glad you enjoyed the posts I curated. Be sure to drop by each of them and let them know what you think! I know they'll appreciate it. Thanks again!

Glad to see you're still chugging along with this! (I'll get bored of the train puns someday. Today is not that day.)

I don't think any of us will get bored of the train puns. They're just so much fun. Thanks for always stopping by to listen/read. I appreciate it!

Really enjoyed your podcast @ethandsmith, great narration, great featured posts, love the sound effects as well :) So happy to be part of the Steemengine!

Thanks so much for taking the time to listen! I'm glad you enjoy all of the sound effects. It was a lot of fun making the intro. We're glad you're part of The STEEM Engine, too!

Another great episode Ethan! I'm going to jump around and check out the threads! I really liked the focus on one subject! @mitneb is doing such a great job for the community! I wish my votes had more weight to support her efforts even more!

Thanks so much for going to check out the other posts. I'm glad that I can send some views over to the posts that I curate. It's a blast producing this podcast, but ultimately, I want to help share the great work that our members are doing at The STEEM Engine!

I'm glad you've enjoyed supporting @mitneb. I certainly have, too.

Great job, Ethan! This is my first time listening to the podcast; I love that it's an upbeat, quick yet informative overview highlighting great content on Steemit. Thanks for your effort in putting this together!

Glad you stopped by to listen! I've really enjoyed producing the podcast. It's probably one of my favorite things I've done since I started my activity on Steemit. I hope you'll catch future episodes! I'll keep my eye out and perhaps feature one of your posts in the future. Just keep sharing them in post promotion!

Thanks again for your comment!

I didn't say that to you before but you have great production value.
To many more, Ethan! Congrats!

Thanks so much, Alex! I'm glad you've enjoyed the podcasts so far.

Nice collection. (Not that I’m biased).

I enjoyed your post! Thank you for sharing it. My wife actually studied abroad in Peru, so it still holds a special place here in our household. We hope to go back someday, so I'll have to keep this tour group in mind!
