It demands surrender

When the shadows move.

Welcome to this weeks Drop in the Ocean roundup, bringing you all the great posts shared on Mondays show.

Our Drop in the Ocean topic for the week was Fear, which naturally had everyone digging deep sharing their thoughts and feelings on the topic of fear. I have to commend everyone who shared a post on the topic as many of them are very personal.

Showing strength and providing valuable discussion about the topic, everyone contributed to a great show sharing their posts and thoughts.

Now do not fear, the posts are here as we dive right into Drop in the Ocean.

The votes have been rolling in from the attendees of the show and we have the posts ready to share with you all.

The top two voted writers will 'level up'. When a member has levelled up, they will receive a daily upvote from the BuddyUP account at 50%. The member keeps their level for 2 weeks unless they level up again on DITO within those 2 weeks. Every time you level up, you will receive an additional 10% on your daily vote, maxing out at level 5.

The writer with the most votes will be resteemed straight after this post. This is so we can all look back at the BuddyUP blog and see the winning posts from each week.

And the winners are...

Voting on the Drop in the Ocean posts has been opened to now allow every @BuddyUP member to cast their vote, instead of only those who attended. With all the votes in for this weeks Drop in the Ocean posts, we are happy to present the two who will level up this week.

If you are wondering how you can join the Drop in the Ocean show, you will find all the required information at the bottom of this post.

Now, let's find out who gains a level this week...

@Andysantics48

Sometimes a person falls for someone you have known for years but never considered to be a partner, whether they wear you down over time or circumstances bring you together creating a new bond. Things can change almost overnight.

We didn't get to see each other very often as we lived a fair distance apart but when we did it was great and I looked forward to his visits with butterflies and excitement.

@Andysantics48 tells us of her bond with such a person, sharing a bit from their beginnings, with a glimpse of events and feelings as the relationship grew.

As a person is able to fall in love in the blink of an eye, so are moments able to turn from the ordinary to the extraordinary, fear being instilled before comprehension is capable of registering.

The roller door came down behind me.

Sometimes looking back at the parts of our lives when we were hurt by others can have us asking what we could have done differently, @Andysantics48 shares a fearful event from her past which has her asking this question.

A must read of how she deals with this fearful event in her life, the events leading up to it, and the events that follow. This was very difficult for @Andysantics48 to share, but having shared her personal recount we can only hope this reaches someone and maybe helps them move forward or even prevent harm to themselves or others.

Be sure to read her personal recount here

@Monchhichi23

@Monchhichi23 is no stranger to fear, she shared her story with us a couple of months back , only natural that the topic of fear would require a lot of strength from her as she recounts a bit more of her personal history with us.

Always waiting for the next time because you knew it was coming you just didn't know when.

Taking us back to her younger days cursed with fear and uncertainty, she takes us on a journey through the years since.

After he went to prison, the fear didn’t go away. It just transformed... living like that does things to a person.

Even after a person feels the worst is over, the worst has already changed you, it has left something behind. Fear can corrupt those who encounter it, leaving its mark on you.

Even when the person who is the cause of your fear cannot harm you, they will always have control of you through that fear. It takes time, strength, and eventually self-assurance that they do not have this control anymore to even start breaking free.

Sharing her personal story of caution, and growth be sure to read her post here

Our runners up for this week

Fear, I think was a difficult topic purely due to the very personal nature it has, some fears may seem silly to those who do not experience them but after reading all the perspectives on the topic I can assure you that you should never discount the effect fear has on a person.

From being able to turn you to stone or scream like a girl, become forever wary of everyone around you or cause you to distrust even yourself. Fear is a very powerful thing often abused by those with malicious intent.

Thank you to everyone who shared their posts in Drop in the Ocean this week, and we look forward to seeing everyone again for next weeks Drop in the Ocean.

So where are the rest of the posts?

  • Head over to our BuddyUP server. You can do this by following the SafeLink post here.

  • Think about the topic for next week, which is...

Discovery

  • Write a post about that topic and come by to the Drop in the Ocean show on Monday (20:00 UTC) to present it and join the conversation.

If you are new and you don't have a membership to BuddyUP, you will receive free access if you present in Drop in the Ocean.

The final and the most important piece of information is... do not publish your post until Sunday or Monday. This is so we can give you all the best amount of exposure possible on your posts and also so you get paid out on the day of the show; so you can come back with an even bigger smile on your face!
