Does being rich make one happier ? (An open discussion)
What is happiness?
In psychology, happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being which can be defined by, among others, positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy.
No one can actually define happiness more than you because every individual have different opinion as to what happiness really is. Being Happy is just a matter of choice. You choose whether to be or not to be happy.
Happiness is actually inside everyone, it’s so close yet very hard to discover. Sometimes, all you just need is something to influence you to bring out that smiling face and feel the joy within.
Back in high school, I met this guy who happens to be one of my best friend now, to be sincere, I’ve never met someone like him. All the time we spent together was all feel with laughter; I feel so attracted to him whenever he talks. His face is carved such a way that he is always smiling. He loves nature, takes photograph and also paints really good. All this combined makes him feel good and happy.
DOES BEING RICH MAKE ONE HAPPIER?
From the start of this article I did said that Happiness as to do with choice and that it depends on what you think can make you happy.
Imagine a guy called John. John is a family man with 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl. It’s really difficult for John to bring in everything the family needs to survive as he earning is very minimal. John lends money from the bank which he used to buy food stuffs and also to send his children to school. Now John is in dept and has to do something to keep life going cool. He became a cleaner in a nearby hotel. John wakes up as early as 6 a.m everyday, gets to work as early as possible, he gets back home very late at 9 pm when children are already asleep. Now john’s daily routing are sleep, work and eat. He has no time to joke around even with his family as he is hustling. For john, he can hardly be happy. If john luckily won a very huge amount of money maybe from a game like a gambling game which he played he will become very happy as he would be able to pay all his dept, eat good food, start a better business and do so
Its difficult to say if really money makes others happier. To some people, it would be yes/no. Many others have different opinion on this.
Its not surprising to see a very poor man today still looking for a way to survive and hardly eat 3 times a day feeling so happy with what he has
Satisfaction is all that actually matter. One can become happy when something is done to their satisfaction. But guess what? I don’t think that the people of the earth can ever be satisfied of something. Yeah they may feel so happy of that particular thing they accomplished at first but somehow, they become more attracted to another thing greater. Solving a problem is like inviting another problem to solve the other.
Conclusion
Its very true when one say that being rich makes them happy but in my own opinion, I think being rich only influence you and allows you to do things that can make you happy. The happiness is already within, you only need something to help you discover it.

@knowledges there was a study that showed that in the United States, the optimal amount of happiness was with a salary between $75,000-$80,000 USD with no debt other than a home mortgage. Any less and there is a higher chance for debt. Any higher, and those people are probably spending too much time working.

Yeah, money really does not buy happiness. but it can influence someone to become happy. don't you think ?
