Eye hEAR Voices
I’m not the only one who hears voices, you all hear them, I’m just the only one who’s silently typing about it. It’s easy to compartmentalize around here, I do it to myself often. There’s about 10 of us who post regularly at kitchen #fff and I have a real good following that engages with me regularly. With #new registrations being next to nothing, like the majority of you, I’m often engaging with the same people. Out of those people, I have a handful of mutual followers who put up responses that are two and three times the size of most peoples’ posts; a page out of my playbook! Consequently, I tend to get into long, detailed, one on one conversations with them.
After reading their posts, following them for quite awhile and having novel size conversations back and forth, I get to a point where I have an idea what kind of people they are. Or, at least what kind of people I think they are. Along with that comes voices. Over time, I develop voices for these friends of mine, as I’m reading their words, I hear their voice. If I’m the only one who does this, what you’re about to read is just your imagination but in case I’m not the only one imagining things, everything you’re about to hear is your imagination. I’d like to tell you what three of those people sound like—in my head.

First up is a sweetheart, I’m sure you already know her, she’s @lynncoyle1. If you don’t know who her, you’re missing out, she curates for @c-squared, is a #steemitblogger who holds nothing back for #steemit. She does a lot of good things for newbs, too, just check her out if you’re not already. I’ve talked typed to her so many times between here and discord we’ve developed a pretty cool digital relationship. 🤔 Is that a thing, is digital relationship a thing? Did I say type that wrong? I think you know what I think mean. Anyway, about Lynn...
She’s always laughing at the end of her sentences, followed by an extended sigh. I know that doesn’t make any sense considering what all she and Brian are going through right now but she laughs at the end of her sentences. She’s a head nodder who can’t remove the smile from her face, ever. Sometimes she’s showing her teeth, sometimes she isn’t but she’s always smiling and the first wOrd in each of her sentences is louder than the remainder of the sentence. It sounds like she’s holding back her laughter every time she talks. High pitched, not an annoying high pitch, though, a little louder than most but not annoying—perfect bar volume. There’s a faint Canadian accent with words that have an ‘O,’ if you can imagine how someone from Minnesota says “Minnesoada,” yeah, like that! That’s what Lynn sounds like, this is her on the right with long brown hair and that big smile I was telling you about, meet, Lynn. Eh, @briancourteau, that’s him on the left, check you out!! You look great, Brian! God bless you both. “Stay Classic.”
Next up is someone else a lot of you already know, he’s done a stellar job acquainting himself with #steemit in only eight months, @thebigsweed. If this is the first time you’re seeing his name, go check him out, I’m not kidding you guys, if we get to an off-grid only civilization, I know where I’m going—Sweed’s place! @theluvbug and @jaynie will vouch for that one. He’s never on-grid. He’s the only homesteader I’ve seen drain maple syrup out of the trees in his yard. He’s a #history buff, too, he’s been on this planet for over 60 years, with that comes experience.
He’s got a lively voice, it’s raspy, kind of like Kenny Rogers but a much louder version. He’s another one who can’t remove the smile from his face. He’s the guy everyone tells jokes because he laughs at all of them and his laugh is an echoing one. He doesn’t stop talking to laugh either, he continues talking through his laughter so it’s hard to understand every third or fourth word. His voice is sharp, as quickly as he lets out a laugh that can be heard across the house, he switches to serious and direct. His sharp voice commands silence. That’s what @thebigsweed sounds like, can you hear him? Here he is, that’s him on the left. “Peace!”
Another #steemian you already know, unless you’re anti-westerns, is @janton. Even if you’re anti-westerns, you’ve most likely heard of him, if not, just give it some time—he’s all over the place! And I mean that in a good way. Typically, all over the place means ‘scatterbrained’ but not with janton, in his case it just means he’s up and down this platform day in and day out, want proof? Check out Asher’s #engagement league, he’s the guy at the top. Every week! Top, as in, doubles the score of second place. Every week!
His voice sounds like Hollywood’s version of Santa Clause with a southern draw—he’s from Texas. The fluffy beard having, red cheeked Santa: “Ho! Ho! Ho!” Every time he says “howdy folks,” I hear it in that Santa Clause voice. That’s about the only time you’ll hear his voice, though, he’s a listener. When he has something to say, listen up, it’s going to be in the form of a question and his soft voice can be hard to hear, you really have to pay attention and, even then, you may need him to repeat himself from time to time. That’s what @janton’s whisper sounds like, hear it? He’s a private guy and that’s the way he likes it, I like that about him. This is the only picture you’ll find for him too. “Howdy folks!”
Thank you, all three of you, for going toe to toe / thumb to thumb / index finger to index finger with me on any given day. I welcome their novel-sized conversations and each of them assure me they welcome mine in return. I plan on introducing more voices to you in the future. Just in case I’m not the only one imagining things, I’ll exit this article with some question marks:
What do I sound like to you? You, who’s listening to me right now. How’d this article sound, can you see my mannerisms? Do tell.
Well, you happened to name one of my favorite dudes to follow, and that is none other than #janton, right on.
As I am typing, I'm still laughing at the introduction, haven't been able to stop.
@lynncoyle1 I have only followed intermittently, with your kind words and admiration for her, you have turned me on to another fellow Steemian that I have added to my follow list, and will join in on the fun.
God bless both her and her husband.
As for your depiction of my voice, not bad. As I was reading this, with my wife being several rooms away, and while watching TV, she had to see what was so funny. I guess I was having a good time.
Laughing and talking at the same time, I thought everyone did that.
My mom, God bless her Soul, told me it was impolite to talk with my mouth full, but she never told me to stop talking while I was laughing.
In reading the comments, I couldn't agree more. Great content like this, for the most part is overlooked. It's a good thing we really enjoy each other's company, or why else would we all be doing this.
Thanks for including me in this wonderful idea.
I need to ponder a little longer, and in so doing I think I may be able to sculptor my picture of #dandays, like Michel Angelo's statue of David.
As always, thanks for the gracious words.
Always Appreciated! Always Humbled!
Your imaginary buddy thebigsweed
Wow! @dandays is lookin' fine @thebigsweed :) You've just found a new follower in me too!!
Thank you #lynncoyle1. Will be my pleasure to follow you also.
Thank you #dandays for the wonderful mention in #Eye hEAR Voices.
First, a quote, and then the use of your line, I hope you don’t mind. 😉
“Always Appreciated! Always Humbled!”
Thank you for that kind compliment, I anticipate it from @puravidville, I still got her fooled! When someone whose hand I’ve never shaken agrees with her, I’m flattered. Thank you!
As far as including you in this one or however many other ones like this.... Man, my pleasure!
@janton is cool dude and very interesting. I call it “crowd control” when a performer can do things like divide a crowd in half, left to right, front to back, etc. Janton has developed a good technique for engaging, I dig it! As for @lynncoyle1, man, I can’t say enough good things. I trip out on their reselience, God bless them both! Blows me away when I see her posting “where do you find time?!” Good luck finding anyone else as transparent as she is—I know I’m not! Hi, Lynn! No need to respond, 👊 <— to Brian please. ‘Talk’ to you soon.
Interesting the voices we develop isn’t it? Tell me.. was your wife asking “what are you laughing about” over your laughter while you were reading me attempting to describe your laughter? Your comments are sofa king pleasant and each one is better than the last—that’s a neat quality! Pleasure knowing you @thebigsweed. Oooh!! That reminds me, what’s “Sweed?” Or is it “Weed?” The Bigs Weed? That’s another thing.... I begin depicting an imagination of a character by writing style too.
I got one more quote and then I’ll need to borrow your line again.
“Always Appreciated! Always Humbled!”
Thanks for stopping by @thebigsweed.
Thank you @dandays :)
And The Bigs Weed reminds me of The Big Lebowski :)
You have a very keen eye.
A double entendre (/ɒ̃ˈtɒ̃d(rə)/; French: [dubl ɑ̃.tɑ̃dʁ(ə)]) is a figure of speech or a particular way of wording that is devised to be understood in two ways, having a double meaning. Typically one of the meanings is obvious, given the context, whereas the other may require more thought.
In picking my HANDLE thebigsweed, I did so because that was my Dad's handle on his CB radios.
Back in the day that was his way of meeting new people and a way of keeping in touch with other CB enthusiasts. It was their social media platform I guess you could say. Being a real conservative gentleman, I am sure he chose it because of his heritage.
The other meaning, by dividing it up this way, the bigs weed, well lets just leave it at this, Merry Christmas.

May you have Blue dreams
I love hearing how people got their names. I’ll show you how I got mine, believe it or not I explained it in the very first post I ever posted in all of social media land—true story. This is the only techy type of interaction/communicating I’ve ever done. I explain it here in my introduce yourself post. My favorite part is the ‘and’ in the middle... D and A (ys) even that center ‘and’ and D n A backwards.
Good morning @thebigsweed, thanks for the blue dreams! I don’t have a wreath for you but I just assembled a five finger goodie out of Girl Scout kolas. The Bic is a reference. 😉
Very creative on the name. Good choice on pushing the post button.
Where would Steemit be without DNA, probably hanging on by a thread.
Starting a year ago, you must be feeling as though you are on a roller-coaster ride, at the top and speeding down hill since.
Also very creative on the wreath.
Likewise with the reference, that is until the reference is legalized in all 50 states.
You know bad joints and all, I heard the stuff is great for arthritis.
This was a great idea! Where is @curie at for this one? How about @c-squared? I don’t know why you don’t hit trails every time. This content is pure gold!
Thank you so much, I’m really glad you think so. You’re beautiful. Less big visits, it’s always the same whales resteeming the same whales’ articles, my 57 reputation is on the low end nowadays.
I try to stay positive. Did you know there’s 13 witnesses ahead of curie??
Thanks a lot for stopping by @puravidaville. iheartu all the time.
Your content isn’t put out for them then. It’s a shame that people who put forth so much effort aren’t getting the recognition they deserve. Maybe Steemit is shifting into the popularity contest that Instagram and Facebook are. 🤷🏼♀️ Just keep doing you.
I'm gettin' on that @puravidaville :) C-squared, here this comes!!
Awesome!!! I’m just over here trying to curate :). Thanks @lynncoyle1.
Goodness! I know, right? I thought it was just me but I guess as we talk the people over and over again, we get used to people's writing style which I believe helps us imagine how their voice sounds. Well, the voices i "hear" have been wrong a few times. Lol!
I do agree with you on how Janton "sounds". I think for him, the hairs on him kinda says more about how he should sound.
You..... You sound like a really fun guy, one who is always at the brink of laughing and making silly jokes out of every situation. You ain't necessarily loud...
What a pleasant surprise this is! Hello, Audrey, have you ever been told you sound like Madge Sinclair when she did Coming To America all sophisticated, professional and proper? And elegant, too, the type of woman who covers her mouth to muffle her laugh.
These voices are great aren’t they? You’re right, we get used to their writing styles first. It’s always weird when we hear them in person isn’t it?! “Hey.. that’s not what you’re supposed you sound like at all!”
I’m glad you’re a fan of janton too. He’s great isn’t he?
My wife said “That sounds like you in real life.” Crazy huh?? Fascinating.
Thanks for stopping by @audreybits.
Well, not so far from the truth. I am just not sure if I associate myself with the word 'elegant' or even 'proper' lol!
Oh yes, these voices are great! They do take our conversations with other up a notch, once we begin to form these voices, its a sign of a deeper connection with these people.
Oh yeah! Its fascinating!!
My pleasure!
I LOVE this and you!!! So awesome :) Hear how excited I sound now?? Yep, I can barely talk with this silly grin on my face :)
You? I hear a deep voice, fun, funny, loving, kind and often full of wisdom. Oh yeah, and holding @puravidaville's hand. But often, I see you with a board game or card game in the other hand too :)
Thank you so much for this @dandays! You really made my day :) I'm gonna have fun reading this in your voice to Brian later!!
Yes!! Two for two! Fascinating isn’t it? The voices we hear as we’re reading these words. I begin to recognize typing styles too. Not from everyone just people I talk back and forth with a lot.. like you.
We gotta make it a date to get together. I can get us to Playa Del Carmen one of these days, one of those ‘this time next year’ things, I can’t wait actually! Don’t forget you’re welcome where we are, too, shooooooot. You’ve seen Pura Vida cook. What could be better than gangster meals spent with kind and welcoming people and a dude that thinks he knows how to be funky? I mean Furry, Danget!!! You know what I mean.
I’m so glad you hear me as kind. Thank you! About the games, funny should say and type that for me to read and hear...
Most people leaving their country for another with only one suitcase containing earthly possessions pack things like memorabilia and clothing, heirlooms, stuff like that. Dude... I’ll snap you a picture of my packed suitcase. I’m not sure what clothes I’m bringing with me yet, I really only need socks and drawls, everything else will work itself out. But bet your you know what I have two chess boards, one vinyl and one wood. 6 decks of cards. 2 cribbage boards, one custom one and one store bought (for the beach). My backgammon board that my mother and I played on. A nice scrabble board, the kind with a wheel in the center so the boards spins like a turntable and 2 cases of dominoes (house/ beach).. notice I have one game for the house and one for the road for each! I’m such a weirdo. One big ziploc bag packed full of all of my pens (I’m actually looking forward to being able to draw again), my sketchbooks and a custom box for all of my pencils. I gotta make room for socks and drawls. 😉
I’m such a nerd! And have you seen the length of my responses lately?!
Thanks for stopping by @lynncoyle1, God bless you and Brian, you’re always in our prayers. Just something about you guys.. I’m drawn to ya’all.

Haha! howdy sir dandays! sorry it took so long to get to this but you had to know that I would. This is so cool, but then everything you do on steemit is cool and unique. I don't know about me being featured on here but you nailed a couple of the finest people on steemit with the gracious and lovely @lynncoyle1 and the amazing sir @thebigsweed. The best of the best. You have good taste in people!
I have the worst voice you ever heard in your life. The dullest, most monatone...just a very low, a little gravelly but flat monatone, it's very frustrating when I'm trying to sound dramatic and I sound exactly the same no matter what I do. lol.
But this...this post is an incredibly different and entertaining idea. I look forward to learning about new voices. and what you imagine they sound like in your head. I don't do that but maybe I'm strange.
Of course you're strange @janton, but that's why I love you buddy!! You deserve to be on any list that I'm on; in fact, I'm humbled by it all :)
Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. J :)
YOU"RE humbled. no I'M humbled! lol. You deserve more than a list but that's life I reckon. Does Mexico celibrate Christmas like the U.S. or Canada? Are you guys able to do anything special?
Oh Christmas is the holiday they celebrate big! Still very religious here, but they start on the evening of the 24th with parties, fireworks, and go til the morning of the 25th. And they open presents on January 4th; apparently the day the Wise Men brought the presents to baby Jesus?
We had our landlord and the other single guy (tenant) over for turkey dinner tonight and tomorrow another couple of single guys from Canada are coming to finish off the leftovers. I collect all the singles and strays over the holidays lol
Let's say we're both humbled :) so glad I met you here @janton!
Howdy again Lynn! Oh that's so wonderful of you to take in the strays! The Christmas spirit at work, I love to hear those things. I'm so glad I met you too Lynn, God bless you both!
Thanks buddy :) You know me and my soft heart ... cats, dogs, people...makes no difference :)
haha! I know, we could use more people like you on steemit. Well, not TOO many more but we could handle a few more!
Eh, the private guy, himself! I’m so glad you both appreciated the idea I did here. I’m always sofa king nervous and afraid I’m the only person who will either understand or appreciate (or both) my content.. Steemit makes me a nervous wreck! Before I forget..
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Merry Christmas, #steemit!
Eh! If i read one more thing you’re not good at... well, it would just be another thing you tell me you’re not good at and you really need to stop doing that! :pointy finger:
God bless both of you, ya’all rwally are amongst my favorites. @lynncoyle1 or janton, anyone, I like to think I’m really well versed but I’ve never seen anything in the Bible or read anything that mentions January 4th, anyone? Anyone?
It’s ok, my wife actually thought the Lord’s Prayer said “transgressions” instead of “debts.” Hu?! 🤔 uhm... Who told you that?!
haha! sir dandays! you better not still be on steemit! you've already demonstrated signs of COS and if you are on steemit all day today...of all days...then I know you're full blown COS where you can't get off steemit if you wanted to!
That would be sad to see. like don't you have more important things to do like.. I don't know...move to another country?? lol.
January 4th lol that was really funny when she said that, I'm glad you brought that up.
I should list something I'm terrible at everyday just to irritate you but since it's Christmas I won't start that. I could have Mrs. J do it though! lol.
@dandays and @janton, I'm not saying I believe the whole January 4th thing, but that's what they believed here and that's what they celebrate! There is a lot of crazy ass backwards stuff that goes on here though haha
Merry Christmas guys! I am at this point, over and out ❤️
Not just there, Lynn. Humans act like humans all over the place, I do it all the time!
Merry Christmas @lynncoyle1. What’d Santa bring you?
