Who wallets, where wallets? How many wallets?
Hello followers and guests! I need some advice and help! At some point here in the near future I am going to want to try to invest in cryptocurrency and I know I am going to need a wallet or wallets.
In doing a quick search there seems to be many crypto wallets to choose from, but my question to you is....
- Which one(s) do you use?
- Why did you pick a particular wallet?
- What are the positives and negatives?
- Are there any that I should stay far away from?
Any and all help would be most appreciated!!!

Right now, I use LocalBitcoins. I chose this one because it didn’t require me to provide all that private info. That, and I wanted to change my bitcoin into cash quick. I’m thinking of going to Bitpay in the near future. The only thing holding me back is that they charge you for a debit card, but then again, LocalBitcoins charges you a fee too, so I guess it’s a wash.

This is a good question. Something I have wondered myself. I am enjoying reading the responses and looking in to them all. Be careful of @funoutdoors. He is a one legged crypto-pirate with a face that looks like the back end of a skunk...don't believe me, just look at his post. That poor man's momma has gone thru her whole life showing the ultimate love for him simply by claiming him in public. HAHA. JK. He is a good friend. Resteeming this post. You should do a post on the process you take from taking SBD from Steemit to where and how you invest it! I would be very much interested in your process! Also I did see the contest and I have an entry posted on your post. I have a few more pictures but I imagine that it is only 1 picture per user! Thanks or commenting and for the resteem!
You and i need to talk. I can give you a few tips, im no expert by any means but i may be able to help you make some money in crypto. Is there a chat format in steemit?
First you need a gdax.com account this is where you will link your bank to buy bitcoin. After that tbere are choices we should discuss. Lets connect somehow.
I am currently not looking into buying right now but instead only use what I have earned here on Steemit. Thanks for the recommendation, I still will check out gdax.com! If I get to the point of buying I will reach out to you for some advice and suggestions...thanks for willing to help out a newbie!

I use Exodus. They're easy to use, simple graphics, and best of all - you can convert between currencies inside the wallet.
Also, I've found Crypto Compare a very useful site for all things crypto.

I was told exodus retains the private keys so the coins are never really yours to hold. Not sure though. I did a post recently about diversifying and that is what someone told me about exodus. See the whole post here.

I have a bittrex account as of now.
I have seen others using bittrex so I will go and check that out! I will also be checking your post out as well! As for bittrex, what opinion of it do you have, good/bad/other? Thanks @dwells!
Hmmmm, hadn't heard that about Exodus. That's where I park my 'savings'. I use Poloniex for trading and only have my 'play money' there.
At this point, I don't really trust any of them seeing this is such a new thing. Will check into the Exodus keys, thanks!
Don't use poloniex!! It should be called polonevergonnagetyourcryptobackniex. I've heard all kinds of bad things about it.
Yeah, I've seen them do some loopy stuff. I only have about $100 USD there - hence, play money. When I get a reasonable profit on something, the profit goes to the wallet and I start over with the 'stake'. I figure it's all a calculated risk, so this spreads things out.

Hey @simms50, how do you like Sola? I saw your comment and link. Is it similar to Steemit in that you make money off of comments and what not? Just looking to have another platform where I can share Steemit content and draw in more people. Also, just wondering if you ever got to check out Bitsequence. I have been earning 3% daily and compounding it. Let me know if you have questions.
Sola has been interesting so far. After seeing @papa-pepper and @mericanhomestead join up I figured I had nothing to lose. I have posted some random pictures as well as a couple of posts that did link back to here on Steemit. It is quick and easy to use and if in the end it does not turn out to be anything then oh well I really didn't lose much but if it does turn out to be a good coin then I will be glad that I got in very early on! Just as with most crypto sometimes you win...sometimes you don't!
As for Bitsequence I have been doing some research on this site, found some negative things about the site. Hopefully you did your own research beforehand. Here is a couple of links to show you what I found.
