Visa Pilots Blockchain Business-To-Business Payments Service

Credit card giant Visa has recently rolled out the first phase of its its blockchain-powered business-to-business payments service called B2B Connect.

The platform is intended to ease cross-border payments by handling direct payments between institutions, eliminating the middleman.

There are already a number of banks working with Visa on the project which includes Union Bank (Philippines), Shinhan Bank (South Korea), United Overseas Bank (Singapore) and Commerce Bank (U.S.).

These banks are currently testing the technology and the platform is set to launch in the market in the middle of 2018.

Good News, the sad thing however is that whereas these financial institutions are so eager to use the blockchain technology, they're all shying away from cryptocurrencies. Just like American Express entered into partnership with RippleNet to use the ripple blockchain but not the ripple token.

Regarding AmEx, I've read from a news that XRP will be used eventually as a means of speeding up payments.
