Mastercard hints on adopting to a Blockchain Settlement System

Recently, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has published a new application from Mastercard that shows a system for a “uniform settlement system”.

The proposal will ease to some of the friction involved with B2B payments which includes increasing data storage demands and the overall transaction volume.

Mastercard notes that the system might include a blockchain-based ledger of transactions where it would be able to automatically record all changes to the ledger, thus having an immutable and verifiable data records.


Australian Solar Startup Power Ledger partners with a Major Energy company to start Blockchain Trial

Power Ledger, an Australian Solar Startup joint forces with Origin, a retail energy giant in the country to start a trial on its blockchain based peer-to-peer energy marketplace.

The startup has raised $17 million on its presale and expects to receive more than $30 million funding by the end of its ICO.

The company is the first Aussie startup to launch an Initail Coin Offering.

It is developing a peer-to-peer energy marketplace that will allow users to buy and sell surplus solar energy.

According to a recent trial results, Power Ledger believes their services will save households as much as $475 every year.

Origin is a major retail energy provider in the country. The trial will start this October 2017 to January 2018.
