I have always been a firm believer about engagement on the Steem blockchain, keeping active commenting on other people's posts is always the best way to remind them about your own blog, and reading through the comments on other people's posts can help you discover other new active Steemians to engage with. Sometimes though it's easier to chat, talk things over and learn through community discussion - that is why so many Discord servers exist - to bring us all together and help us learn from each other.

So when the Witness @enginewitty sent me a DM saying he wanted to do a show with me, my first answer was of course...I'm a bit too old to be a Chippendale

Fortunately it turns out my moobs will be safely covered (not that anyone will know) because the show he had in mind is a Discord voice chat taking place in #thealliance server on Monday Nights 10pm UK time (UTC) which seems to be 5pm, 4pm or 3pm in America depending on where you live. Simple way to work out the time for you is to type into Google 10pm UK in (where you live) and the answer should guide you.

What is it going to be about?

It will be an open voice chat lead by myself and @enginewitty where anyone can join in on voice and discuss anything they wish to cover about the Steem Blockchain. Voice chat is optional though, if you wish to just hang out, listen in and join in the discussion via the text chat channel that is fine. From my own experience the best post sharing is when we share the posts we enjoyed by other people, so there will be an opportunity to share posts you have found and enjoyed through the text chat or voice - but to keep everything smooth and clear please ask first.

Why would I join in?

Well if listening to myself and @enginewitty chat on the topics of the week isn't a big enough incentive, we will be looking after our audience as well. Anyone sharing a post they have found and enjoyed will get promotion of a post from their own blog by us with upvote and resteem - so look after your favourite content creators and we will look out for you - that's a win win. Depending on numbers we will also try to involve some fun games, chances to win bonus upvotes, a @steemmonsters section with giveaways of cards or booster packs - the whole idea is bringing people and community together and making the Steem Blockchain even more attractive to be around then it already is.

How long will it be on?

It starts at 10pm UK or whatever that resolves in your local time, and will go on as long as people wish to remain in the audience. So don't worry about calling in long after it has started, we will always have time for anyone calling in for a chat.

I'm really excited, how do I join in?

The chat will be in @thealliance server on Discord, it is now fully open for any Steemians to join as discussed in The Doors are Open and while you read enjoy the awesome The Fifth Element multipass gif - if somehow that film passed you by it is well worth looking up. If you have not already joined then https://discord.gg/bQRaRk4 will let you in, it's a comprehensive discord filled with friendly people, multiple channels to share your posts and read others along with fun chat channels.

I'm tempted but my mum told me never to chat on Discord with strangers.

Mum's are very wise, and it's true you don't want to head into a Discord with just anyone - but honestly it's me @c0ff33a

You see me all the time in posts drinking coffee, roasting coffee, taking photographs in the middle of the road - I'm just your average friendly slightly eccentric Brit.

And @enginewitty, your premier Steem Witness, engagement master, leader of @thealliance and frequenter of more discord shows then I can remember including his own Words with Witty on Friday afternoons and Too Nuts with @jackmiller Witness on Tuesday nights.

Forewarned is forearmed, so this post is giving everyone time to learn about the schedule and plan their own time. I will do a pre show post each Monday around an hour before - to give everyone chance to join in. It is important we all focus on the positives of the Steem Blockchain, keep our active users and help any new users to grow and flourish.
