"Give..." - Daily Word #43

If you asked yourself openly (hand on heart), would you say that you are more a Giver or a Taker?

Well to be honest, as selfish as it sounds... I love to be on the receiving end once in a while. Especially from my loved ones. It's just natural isn't it?

But the Bible talks about it a little different. In fact, often it is the opposite. Love your enemies. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Turn the other cheek and so on.

Today I'd like to share this verse from Luke 6:38 from the Passion Translation

"Give generously and generous gifts will be given back to you, shaken down to make room for more. Abundant gifts will pour out upon you with such an overflowing measure that it will run over the top! Your measurement of generosity becomes the measurement of your return."

And again here, it talks about GIVING as our first response. Not taking. Not receiving. I guess what God is teaching us all is always on the contrary of many teachings from world.

When we Give, we are actually not relying on our own understanding, our own capacity, our own ways; which in fact ignites a new revelation and reliance on God (vs. our own self). Because if we did the latter, we would often give sparingly, based on our level of generosity.

Will You Give?

We have to come to a NEW PLACE of Believe and Faith. And when we exercise our GIFTS, we are putting it into the Hands of the Master, the Provider, the Healer, the Giver, the Miracle Working and Prayer Answering Magnificent God, our Father and of All Creation.

His Blessings often overtake us when we least expect it... and slaps us with such bountiful amounts in every area of our life that we know, for certain that it could NOT have been us.

It is always about Him. And remember, all we have are from Him!
