A Dollar A Day charitable giving project update : US$ 1000 in donations distributed in 27 days
Today we reached the equivalent of US$1000 in donations distributed through A Dollar A Day since the project started on 1 May.
I am totally blown away by this.
When I ran the first round of this project last November / December it took around 6 weeks to reach US$1000 in donations - and that was when SBDs were worth around US$10.
I am truly thankful to all the exceptional members of the steem community who have made donations to the project. Your kindness has demonstrated the power of steem to make the world a better place.
This past week two great new projects have been added to the 10 projects already receiving funds from A Dollar A Day.
The Children's Football Project run by SteemChurch Venezuela (@sc-v) has received 15 SBD so far, as has The Awesome SMILE Project run by @indayclara in the Philippines.
Alongside these two new projects A Dollar A Day has been donating to @schoolforsdg4 (55 SBD) and @womenempowerment (30 SBD) in Bangladesh, @thegreens (25 SBD) in Cameroon, @papilloncharity (45 SBD) in South Africa, @bobydimitrov's community garden (30 SBD) in Bulgaria, the @intrepidsurfer tree planting project (15 SBD) in Peru, Project Dudeland run by @bigdude in Venezuela (45 SBD), projects run by @malos10 and @rapo in Venezuela (15 SBD), @tarc animal rescue centre (45 SBD) in the USA, and @familyprotection (60 SBD) in North America and around the world.
Twenty-two generous steemians have so far contributed SBDs to A Dollar A Day and to everyone one of them I am extremely grateful.

I would like to give special thanks to @goldendawne who has increased her daily donation to 3 SBD, to @cryptocurator who is now giving 2 SBD each day, and to @steemcommunity witness (run by @abh12345 and @paulag) who has committed to give ongoing support to the project.
In addition to my regular daily donation, I am also using post rewards to top up the daily donations to 15 SBD. I have so far donated 121 SBD in total.
Thanks also to @hopehuggs who is supporting the project by giving daily donations directly to people in Venezuela.
Special thanks also to @ausbitbank, @beanz, @canadian-coconut, @eturnerx, @markwhittam, @roxane and @starkerz for their generous upvotes on the project posts. These are being recycled back into enhancing the daily donations.
Unfortunately the SBD value has dropped further but with the current levels of donations the A Dollar A Day project should still be distributing the equivalent of around US $1100 in the first month.
If anyone else would like to join in the project donating 1 SBD each day, even if only for a few days, it would be great to have you on board.
The Awesome SMILE Project run by @indayclara in the Philippines
The Awesome SMILE Project is an initiative to help children living in poverty, particularly street children in Cebu, Philippines.
The project is run by @indayclara in coordination with @jassennessaj and in partnership with @steemph.cebu.
The first activity of the project is being run in conjunction with the Luis Amigo Ladies Dormitory who provide a safe haven for street kids. The Awesome SMILE Project is providing food, clothes, shoes, hygiene products and also art materials and books for the children.
The Children's Football Project run by SteemChurch Venezuela (@sc-v)
Because of the deteriorating economic situation in Venezuela many sports clubs have had to close down.
Steemchurch Venezuela (represented by @darlenys01) and the Vastago Foundation have joined together to sponsor the San Celestino Futbol Club. They will be providing equipment and kit for children to continue to play football at the club.
A Dollar A Day is continuing to regularly support the @familyprotection project founded and run by @canadian-coconut and @markwhittam, @papilloncharity in South Africa, @schoolforsdg4 and @womenempowerment run by @azizbd in Bangladesh, Project Dudeland run by @bigdude in Venezuela, projects run by @malos10 and @rapo also in Venezuela and @tarc animal rescue centre run by @rhondak in the USA.
I am also actively looking for new projects to support. I am currently appraising several new projects. I would particularly welcome new projects in countries where A Dollar A Day has not yet made any donations.
