Time Are Really Changing: Sci-Fi Is Coming TruesteemCreated with Sketch.

Over the weekend I was listening to some deep stuff and delving into some mediation. I was pondering what the next 75 years will hold.

As a species, humanity is very young. We are mere infants compared to what else is out there. Our technological progress is like child learning to walk when others are using calculus.

Fortunately, we are starting to see the pace of our understanding picking up. The last 125 years saw the human race really surge ahead. Our technological capabilities keep growing at an exponential pace. To me, it is really exciting to see.

I am a big believer in blockchain. The next 10 years will see a lot of industries altered by this. In fact, I feel that this will lay the foundation for a totally new business environment.

That said, there are a couple of articles I came upon this weekend which caught my attention. I discussed my views on 3D printing and how I feel the later part of this year and 2020 will see a massive explosion surrounding this technology.

This is vitally important because 3D printing deals with how things are made. The manufacturing sector is enormous with over $12T in the United States alone. For most of humanity's history, commerce followed the labor rates. Production always sought out the cheapest form. Sadly, this often was slave labor which is, obviously, a huge stain on human history.

3D printing of homes is starting to get closer. We saw a number of trials over the past year and now we see another one. In Saudi Arabia, they were able to 3D print a house in 2 days. With such a shortage of housing throughout the world, this is a technology that can make an immediate impact. By lowering the cost to construct while speeding the process up, we are going to see more people with access to housing.

Another area that really is taking off is in the field of food. 3D printing of food is a concept that is going to make restaurant life much easier. It also allows for much greater creativity when striving to be "artistic" with food. Think of how things such as cakes and other pastries look. The appearance is almost as important as the taste.

We now have a device that not only will 3D print the food out but cook it using a laser. This is something that could make one think of Star Trek. Although not at the level of a Replicator, it is working towards it.

These are ideas that would be something out of a Science Fiction movie just a couple of decades ago. By the end of the next decade, we will be using devices such as this to create many of the items in our home. Manufacturing plants will most likely be filled with printers producing products for a fraction of the cost of what they are today. We will have access to digital scans which we will download for free (or a nominal fee) and print out.

A great deal of this could be tied to blockchain enabling securing and the printing out using cryptocurrency. Much of what we are going to be doing will have automation involved.

So where does all this put us in 75 years?

This is a real challenge since we truly have no idea the magnitude of what is possible. If we go back 75 years and try to describe today's technology to people in 1944, they would look at us like we were crazy. There is no way they would understand the Internet, Social Media, Virtual Reality, or Autonomous Cars. A concept such as nanotechnology would be really scary to them.

Some of my guesses are that we will become self healing. With the ability to rewrite biology, we will be able to recode anything that is wrong within. Since we will all be connected via our organic material, information will be captured and processed whenever it is needed. It is not out of the realm that we will be able to telecommunicate with each other using only our minds.

We also will most likely see lifespans eclipsing 125 years. Perhaps, in another 3/4 of a century, we will be close to the point of immortality.

Humanity is passed the point where it will destroy itself. That is part of the prophecies and the importance of 2012. Like a startup company, the human startup is now to the point where it can grow. The early pains are passing. We will see a new way people interact and move passed the wars and killing that we see today.

As more of our lives becomes digital, we will have greater control over our physical world. We are going to keep speeding up the pace of food production along with growing bigger items (such a vegetables). Resources will be used wisely. We will see the need for money diminish as most things will be free or near-free.

Most everything around us will be intelligent. Information waves of all kinds will be decoded without external devices. All of humanity will be able to tap into the "cloud" of consciousness which houses all of our knowledge.

A lot of these things will be part of everyday life before the end of the century. The next couple decades could see us attain full quantum capabilities. This would allow us to explore the physics of consciousness. Tapping into that might net a windfall of knowledge that makes us look like we are living in the Stone Age today.

Of late, I am becoming more convinced that the further we progress, the more we are seeing science and spirituality mix. This is also something that is at the very early stages. However, when I ponder what can happen over the next 100 years, it starts to get into the realm of mystics and seers. There might be a time when everyone is a Shaman (or the AI is).

I write this as a fun trip of the mind into what is possible. There are so many who get caught up in the struggles of the moment they miss that there is a lot of exciting stuff taking place. For those who are around 50 years old or younger, there is a good chance we see some incredible things taking place in our lives. What is occurring today is just a minor insight into what will be present in a few decades.

Do not forget, it was only 25 years ago that talk show hosts were asking this:

Blockchain will be an integral part in most automation and AI as consensus will be too sensitive to leave to any one organization or individual.

That interview at the end... hilarious, and only 25 years ago... 😂 🤣 Tbh, I was still active on BBS systems back then. The DOS box in Windows 3.11 was a pain to work in though... I was sooo happy with the much better DOS box in Windows 95; even then the BBS systems were still a thing... Good memories, and everything went so fast after that! Thanks for another wonderful article @taskmaster4450 😊

This is the year. My 50th High School reunion is in June. You think of what I've seen, and the pace is accelerating.

I am at the age and stage where I don't think 50 years in the future, or really even 5. I just keep knocking along doing the best I can.

Interesting concept, that of much longer life. What will that do to people and the human spirit? Will the majority become much more cautious and conserving of their time (which is what I suspect)? Will that leave people like me as even more freaks than we already are? Interesting.

I love your idea of spirituality rising. I believe you are correct. Society has, from the very beginning, shown a rise in art and spiritual matters every time food production has become easier. The invention of the bow? Domestic animals for food? Farming? All these led to exponential lifts to the non essential pursuits. I'm sure there is another bump or two left in that.

I just love the ability to 3D print houses. The economy of scale will really change our race forever. I expect that this technology will be a fact in my lifetime. More leisure time for more people means more ideas and things changing. It is one of the few hard facts of Humanity.

Thanks for a terrific post.
