Do You Like To Debate? You Can Now On The Steem BlockchainsteemCreated with Sketch.

Judging by some of the comment sections, this application could be an absolute winner.

Free speech is a topic that is coming up a lot of late. With the actions of the likes of Google and Facebook, some are starting to realize how important it is. Blockchain provides a viable answer to that since it is immutable.

Debate.org, Discourse, Kialo and others are popular debating sites. Now, Steem has it's own application that allows people to express their views AND earn money while doing so.

@discutio created a site that allows people to add topics they want to discuss. People then can comment Pro or Con for the topic raised. Either can be upvoted to earn the commenting person money.

The account put out a post that explains things in a bit greater detail.

Their website is https://discut.io/

This is a very interesting idea. While the interface is still rather simplistic, there is still room to grow. Obviously, discussions and commenting can take place using many interfaces on the Steem blockchain. What I like about this one is that it puts these types of discussions in one area. All posts made will be "debate" related. One will not have to sift through a series of photos or links to find what he or she is seeking.

Another problem is that we have some serious discussions that take place on the Steem blockchain yet can be hidden. What I mean is if someone puts up a post and is not on your feed, there is a good chance it is missed. Resteems can obviously help but there is no guarantee. Again, this is a place where one can check to see if there are discussions of interest.

For example, and I will do one a bit later to test it out, this could be a handy application for Steem based discussions. This is a subject that, obviously, interests most members of the community. By posting on this site as a question, we could then see more of the community involved if people get into the habit of using discut.io as a resource.

This is not necessarily the "killer" app the blockchain world is seeking yet it is something that can be useful to the community. There are a variety of issues that people are passionate about and interest them. Here is a place to state their views. At the same time, others can learn from those who researched particular subjects.

There are many subjects that are controversial or where many feel the view point of others is just completely absurd. This involves some mainstream stuff but also gets into the alternative or conspiracy thinking. Topics such as vaccination, flat earth, climate change, religion, politics, and who killed Kennedy tend to see people typically shut off.

Perhaps now those with ideas on subjects such as these can express their viewpoints and what their research shows. Of course, the opposite view can be put forth in the same fashion.

This could be something that garners some interest.

This is really great.

Also love the design. There’s many possibilities for this “use case”. While I’m not sure about the honesty of contributions (because rewards), this could also totally work for a platform like Slant.co.

Great addition @fknmayhem.

I never even thought of it as a way to compare or get input on different applications or products. Hell it could be a way to ask which is a better hotel to use in a particular city or which car rental is the best.

You are right, the possibilities are many with this.

For those we have dpoll.

Which would also be an interesting experiment for token listing competitions. Which token receives the highest rewards? Will any token spend on bidbots to the max for their answer?

Preferably also with integrated BTC/ETH/LTC/BCH payment gateway for a fairer playing field.

Yesterday, I already wanted to test discut.io but I couldn't login while mobile..
Today, on my laptop, there were no problems, besides:
My new Discussion isn't shown on discut.io :/

Greets!

Thank you for the feedback @luegenbaron.

I have not tried it so I hope they work out some of the issues. I will test it later.

So you're hunting without testing the products?
No offense.

That is correct. I am not the tester for applications. I simply convey information about what is announced to spread the news about what is going on to more people.

If it is an app I use I will state my personal experience. If not, like this one, I simply state what is posted in their article along with ideas of how it might impact Steem.

Those who use the apps such as yourself often provide feedback.

Hmm.. Okay
I just wanna mention that I think this is a bit unfair to other hunters, who might put some testing and more time in their hunt.
You hunted the product first, so they were too slow..
Even though they might just put more time and work into their hunt..

This is not posted on Steemhunt.

Why do you think it is?

Oh wow. I don't know.
I take everything back. :)

Thanks for your article and sorry for my unreasonable critic.
Greets :)

Given how opinionated the community has become due to their passions after the Steemit announcement, this may be a great way for engagement to occur in the ecosystem. Thanks for sharing!

I feel like we should be making this point more often. Many people complain that whales can censor anyone they want with a flag, but that's only true because steemit.com and many of the other 3rd party front-ends are the ones doing the censoring.
