Curried Lamb Chops (Requested by Steemian @cecicastor) - A BraaiBoy TV Recipe

in #braai6 years ago (edited)

I joined Steemit a few weeks ago, and started blogging and sharing my existing YouTube videos. I put out a call for anyone to suggest/request some recipes, and @cecicastor (from Canada, currently in Nicaragua) requested her son's favourite "something with lamb chops".

Shoutout to @cecicastor for requesting the recipe!

We love our curried lamb here in South Africa (check out my other videos for a curried sosatie recipe aswell), so thought an easy curried lamb chops recipe was the way to go.

Curried Lamb Chops: easy and straight forward... but OH SO DELICIOUS!

Do you have any recipes or ideas that you would like to see me try out? Let me know in the comments below and if I use your idea there will be a reward in it for you. For now, that's a shoutout in the recipe video... but if this gains any traction, then I'll formalise it into something cooler ;-)

Anyway... so please check out the lamb curry chops recipe and let me know what you think in the comments below.

Please UpVote the video if you enjoyed it, and please remember to follow me on Steemit (https://steemit.com/@braaiboy?r=braaiboy) so that you don't miss the next episode of #BraaiBoyTV.

P.S. Printable recipes up on my website : http://braaiboy.co.za/braai-recipes/

Hi @braaiboy! We haven't met! I am resteeming, upvoting and following YOU! I am a foodie and you cook! Makes sense!

I LOVE this idea of cooking other people's recipes! Truly creative! Your video was very well done, the recipe choice was a delicious one.

What's the most exotic dish you've cooked? Which was your most challenging? Do you have a cuisine preference? How many countries have you heard from? I'm Canadian, born in Trinidad. However, when it comes to "gastronomic pleasures, I am very much a "global citizen".

I will think about which of my gazillion favorite dishes I'd like to send you. I'm a shameless "carnivore", so it'll be a "meaty" choice for sure!

I look forward to seeing more of your food adventures! Cheers!

Hey @kismet2018,

Thanks for the love! Yeah, I was blisfully cruising along doing my own thing, when someone randomly requested I try something for them. I started working it into my videos and blog content... and now I'm thinking I'm going to have to do a whole series JUST on other people's requests... I LOVE when things like that happen organically.

Re "most exotic": Well... I'm part of the team that holds the record for the most species braaied at once (we did 60 different species from Angel fish to Zebra and everything in between). The only thing I haven't braaied is ice-cream :P

It's always a pleasure to meet a fellow "foodie" (I hate that word because I have no formal training, so it feels a little fraudulent :P) ...anyway... thanks again for popping in!

Good Luck on your Steemit adventure as well, I've followed you too... it seems you have a great eye for good content ;-)

Whatttt????? Braaied ZEBRA???

By the way I had to look up "braaied", my friend! Translation on this side of the Atlantic is "BBQ"! So glad I checked! Could have sent you Mom's 4-ingredient, home-made, no machine ice cream recipe - just saying - hehe

Back to the BBQ Zebra. Technically, a person could BBQ anything! The thing of EATING it becomes another thing! Depends on if your video was on the Food Channel or National Geographic, huh?

I mentioned I was a carnivore but my exotic tolerance does not extend to zebra, I don't think. Although anything with habanero-heat hot sauce, is DELICIOSO! What does zebra taste like? Were you able to eat everything your record-holding team cooked? You really must do a blog on the 60 species, from Angel Fish to Zebra! That would be very interesting for sure!

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I will check more of your posts, I welcome you to do the same. I'm not a pro at anything and I am very inept on Steemit, but I am having a blast! Cheers!

Well technically Braai is closer to "grilling"... whereas BBQ generally refers to the "low and slow" smoking (usually brisket, pork shoulder, ribs etc)... but yes... if you can eat it I suppose you can grill and/or BBQ it :-)

Re the Zebra: I've actually never tasted horse myself before, but people who have say it's similar in taste to that. It has a slightly "sweet" taste to it... if you like game meat then you shouldn't have a problem with Zebra at all.

Re the blog: Great idea... I've probably got the news article still somewhere (it was about 4 years ago that we did it), and I should have a couple of pictures in the archive as well. We often do game and other wild animals on the grill here at home (especially in the bushveld), so the species themselves weren't as impressive as the fact that we did them all at the same time.

P.S. Before I freak you out, most of us city-dwellers stick to the regular beef, pork, lamb & chicken variety, and you'll be hard-pressed to find too much else in our regular retail outlets. OK... maybe Kudu (antelope) and Ostrich are also popular. :P

Thank YOU for taking the time to chat as well... I'll definitely be checking more of your posts... it's always great when an actual human is on the other end of the conversation instead of some damn bot :-)

Haha ... I am a real human alright! Sometimes we can rob ourselves of experiencing the real humanness in ourselves and others! What a shame though! That's where the good, real, honest "stuff" is!

Thanks for clarifying the difference between braai and BBQ. It all sounds irresistibly delicious! Thank you for describing the other meat experiences.

If you ever post about your award-winning adventure of cooking 60 species at once, let me know! I look forward to it! Cheers!

As if you need formal training. You are a master savant!

Another yummy treat to enjoy, thanks @braaiboy nou is ek honger....

Thanks for watching Joan... I promise I'll make up for it when we have a #TeamSouthAfrica Steemup one day.

Lol like a big boss, nice one again bud.. Cheer$;)

Thanks man... "the classics never go out of style".

Hey Braaiboy, I love your video man! You the manne!!!

Thanks man! Much appreciated... You should pop in for a few beers the next time we have a SteemUp. Would be great to meet you.

omg... I love your videos... but it's kinda too late for me to curate this one... so looking forward to your next one ... looking forwrd to your next content... hoping vegetable or fish grill ;p @braaiboy

Hey @deborism,

Thanks for popping in, and thanks for the kind words.

I'm REALLY not a fish fan (love seafood though)... but 2 weeks ago I got not 1, but 2 requests for a fish recipe... so my next recipe going live is actually a tour of the brewery making my new BraaiBoy Beer, and then the one thereafter is a Snoek Recipe (VERY popular here on the West Coast). #WatchThisSpace ;-)

Oh yes... and I've sort of agreed to figuring out something to do with Beetroot... but that one might take a while.

Oh seafood would be great too! yums.... either way i'd like to see how you're gonna whip a yummilicious beetroot esp on the grill :)

Hey, nice, Im gonna try this, you will feature on my next, best posts.
