Update: Changing The Time Frame To Enter Each Contest And 2 Hour Bot Downtime
Contest entries
Due to the high amount of photos I am getting each day, over 1000. I have decided to cut down the time frame for entering each contest to the last day. Starting next week only when you post on the last day of the contest your photo will be participating in the contest. The bot will confirm this to you. The window is 24 hours after my reminder message.
This is to make it more manageable for me to go over all the entries.
Posting of the seletions
I will also be releasing the photo selections on the 2nd day after the deadline. This is to give me more time and make sure I can get every selection out at the same time. The selections will be released at 12:00 AM and PM (GMT+1). I am already slowly transitioning to this new release schedule.
Bot downtime
Apparently the bot stopped commenting for 2 hours. It is back to normal and I have not figured out why yet. However, if you used the right hashtag everything is oke and I will see your photos :D

I plan to be around New Zealand by that time! I can imagine why you would want to move there. I imagine it is like a mix between Norway and Zwitserland, which are both beautiful countries!

In 2015 when I moved to Boston 3 years ago it snowed over 122 inches. It was then that I realized that there is no way I can be a senior citizen living in an area where it snows that much. When it's that bad you can't even leave your home.
The other reason I'm obsessed with moving to New Zealand is - why not move to paradise? Plus I've never heard of any political bullshit or natural disasters in New Zealand.

Do you plan on keeping the penalty for not posting each day the same (currently at 10% penalty I believe)? I completely understand you wanting to cut down on the amount of photos that you have to go through, and appreciate you putting on this contest (especially for new people on Steemit like me who don't have much exposure by ourselves yet), however the photos I take tend to fit into specific categories.
For example, I rarely take pictures that I would categorize in streetphotography or portraitphotography. In the past I have been spreading out my photos throughout the week for the themes that fit well with my pictures so that I submit a picture every day, but with this new process, I will take a 10% penalty most Fridays because I won't have any photos to submit for the two contests that are on that day.
Good point, I will rethink that. I did not account for that. I agree that a lower penalty seems fair. I will come back to that
I agree with @schmidthappens, thanks for all your hard work @juliank. You're building a great community around here and the fact that you're curating over 1000 photos speaks to that (let alone the thought of having to chose from all of those). 👍
Thanks, I have developed a work flow in the meanwhile. So I have gotten quite efficient at it. However there is a max to my capabilities ;p So slowly adding restrictions over time to keep it manageable

One question though: today I posted a photo for cityscapephotography but the bot comment didn't come (maybe due to downtime, thats ok). However I saw two photographs from different people that the bot accepted today (few minutes ago) one for portraitphotography contest and one for smartphonephotography contest... is sth wrong?
The bot was down for 2 hours and did not comment ton anybody. When I noticed I fixed it. I go over the entries manually so no worries I will still see your photo ;)

You should figure out a way to use your "real" participants, those you trust to help on the task to find plagiarism by pointing to you the photos that are not original/are copy/or came directly from google. That way it's a little less work for you and more fun for us.

That means that your 6 pm is my 12 pm if I am living on the east coast of North America so I need to make sure that to enter I must get my entry in before 6 pm my time.

Ehm I am not sure about the math. but my time zone is GMT+1 or UTC+1. The bot will give you a confirmation as well as the time zone its on

i was sure that the time window is always was 24h.. sounds like great idea to make it shorter and 24h is good enough :-)
I wanted to make is as accessible as possible, so I always looked at photos form the last 7 days
