Account Makeover - A Few Changes I’ve Wanted To Do For Awhile

It should only be weird for a minute. By the time you’re done reading this article, my new image profile picture and cover image won’t be so nails on the chalkboard noticeable anymore and we’ll be right back to upvoting, resteeming, engaging back and forth, blogging, telling each other how great we are and everything else we do while carrying on as though my new image profile picture and cover image are all you’ve ever known and this isn’t the longest run on sentence you’ve read all day.

Eh, ladies, really, we’re not all that bad—promise! Every single one of you reading this right now has dealt with that ish you’re whole life. That’s one of the reasons I changed my profile picture, I have a few of them, reasons, but that’s one of them—non humanlike attention.

I received quite a few disturbing messages while running my old profile pic—the one of Pura and I:

For the record, I’m the husband who says thank you when dudes break their neck as Pura walks by, “thank you, I’m the luckiest guy I know!” I’m not jealous :fact: I’m grateful. If they didn’t hurt their self trying to get a better look, ‘that’ would be weird but got dang! During the past two years, while using my old profile picture, dudes weren’t just breaking their necks to look, they said some pretty disturbing things to me about her and, I’m tired of knowing the descriptive thoughts behind their eyes, I’m over it—that’s one reason.

Another one is what happens if we actually meet some of you in say, five years or 10 years or, whenever #steemfest is in a practical location, and you’re expecting this young, hip, 30 something year old couple because of my old profile pic when I’m really a silver haired, mohawk having, operator of a tricked out wheelchair? There’s more.

@dandays is D and A written out in long form. I’m probably sounding like a broken record about now as I’ve explained D and A, as in her name starts with a D and mine an A, numerous times the past few weeks—I’ve been anticipating this account makeover. Ever since installing discord two years ago, I’ve used the DNA double helix you’re seeing now as my profile pic, I like it. It’s practically the exact same thing as a mirror and our faces, only minus the mirror and our faces, plus a little tougher on the long-term to memorize, less visually captivating for the virtual creeps, and easier on your short-term recognition.

I changed out my old Bitcoin background too. I’m on Steemit, “guilty,” I’m a huge supporter of Bitcoin, Steem, Monero, EOS, all of the legitimate Cryptocurrencies and it doesn’t need to be pictured at the top of my page anymore. I’m going to be more constructive with my header space from now on. I’ll randomly make a new collage out of past cover images from the articles that were especially successful amongst the community. It’s something I can do to keep my page fresh that’ll be fun—a periodic unscheduled update with a transition smoother than a spoon.

This is my #new look—a little lot less subtle on the outside with the same ‘sweet as a lime’ persona you’ve grown to love on the inside.
