in #blog5 years ago

Hey Sunshines:),

Thank you to the people that we have met over the years that has asked us to please help with information about earning a lifestyle online, this serires are dedicated to you and to anyone that would like straight up information which is straight to the point, if you have any questions please feel free to ask, as we may be able to make posts about your question to help others also.

Over the last decade plus many people have been living the dream of earning a living from social media, weather it be Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, and other sites, initing the spark in others that want to live the dream also, the question I get asked most is how can one earn from social media?

Picture Source - sorry picture wouldn't upload to server at time of post upload.

There are so many ways you can use social media with the many different sites, it all depends on what you want do, what I mean by that is do you want to create content – like share knowledege via blog posts/video's, or sell products/services?

Sharing Knowledege

Sharing Knowledege in the form of blog posts or video's is known as content creation which can be shared via social media or a website.

What content to share?
Share content that you are knowledege, passionate, and interested in.
How to earn via content creation?
You can add advertisment from google ads in your blog posts on your own website, add google ads to your youtube videos, for this you may need to have a following on youtube at the moment you need 1000 followers to be able to add ads to your videos to earn.
You could also could reach out to company's in your area that you live, or what your content is about, if you share knowledge about health reach out to health company's that may want to pay for advertising on your posts, you may find they will want you to have a following also, as people want to get their money's worth of advertising to people that would be interested in their products.
You could also sell products via your posts/videos which we'll discuss in selling products/services.
Which social media sites to share content on?
There are many social media sites to use and new ones that pop up also, depends if you would like to use centrilized or decentrilized sites or a mix of both.
For example if you are creating videos, you could upload to sites like Streemie (which is in beta, similar to youtube, but you earn from advertisers when you get a donation of a like), then you could then upload that video to palnet, write a breif run down what is in the video, which then gets shared to Steemit, you then can share that post by the share buttons to Facebook, Twitter, Intergram, Likden etc. (Instead of redoing the post over again, by sharing you are sharing the post picture and a brief, you will need to write a call to action, which is getting your followers to click on the post to read or watch the video. At the end you will need to do a call to action to ask for a like, share, comment or follow).

Selling products/services

It depends what products/services you want to offer for sale, do you have your own products/services to sell or would you like to offer other peoples products/services.

Selling your own products
If you have your own products you can sell them via social media sites like a business page on facebook is one of the easiest ways to start as you can set up your own shop via your business page, to set one up you will need to have a personal page, then go to settings and set up a business page with a shop. You could also share you products on instagram to get a following to your store on facebook by leaving your store link under your product pictures.
You could also blog on sites like Steemit and Palnet ( when you sign up for a Steemit account you can use your Steemit account to sign up for a Palnet account, then you can post on Palnet, that post will post on Palnet and Steemit at the same time, where you then can share that post on to facebook, instagram, twitter etc, all in one post).

Other sites you can sell products on are Shopify, Amazon, Ebay, Openbazzar, Esty (Esty is a artisan site for handmade products), classified websites in your country or local area via facebook, websites, auctionsites, product directory's, email newsletters, etc or set up your own website (that may be something you may want to leave to you get on your feet).

Selling other peoples products

If you don't have products of your own you can sell other peoples/company's products in the form of either dropshipping, affiliate marketing, referal marketing.
Dropshipping:
is were you don't hold or touch the product you sell the product either via social media, store, emailing, or your own website (check the rules for each dropshipper how you can advertise their products to sell, as some may not allow some of these methods, if you break the dropshipper's rules you will be banned from their list to sell products.) You are focused on getting customers interacting with them, closing sales then sending a email to your dropshipper what products you have sold, send them them the information of your customer to send the product to.
You will need to cover the product price, you may be required by the dropshipper to have a tab, where you have given them money and they will take the product price out of that, where you will need to keep it topped up, you will need to also cover the shipping price also, so you will need to work out all the costings be for selling to customers to make surer you cover costs plus make alittle bit also.
Affiliate Marketing
is were you take a company's product advertise it, link it back to the company's website, once a sale is made via your link you get a purcentage from that company.
Each company has different rules one's you may want to keep an eye on are:
  • The percentage of each sale you will receive
  • What period length is each tracking link valid for – a lot I've come across are 30 days
  • Is the sale only for new customers you bring in or any customer that purchases a product
  • Which sites you are allowed to advertise/share products on – some company's may only want your
website which they want to check first before you get approved to see if your website is in line with their company values.
    Refferal Marketing
is similar to affiliate marketing were you don't need the money outlay for products, or worry about sending or touching the products, you need to find customers, the difference is you are reffering customers to websites to sign up, when they sign up, purchase the service or product you get a percentage or a token of the sale some sites do for the length of the customer, you will need to check each sites rules.

Each opion has it's advantage and disadvantage you will need to see what fits best with what you would like to do and achive, each option you need to have customers/followers.

The next posts will focus on each subject in this post on focus on examples, how to set up and where to find information. Everything is a learning curve it will take time to learn and set things up when you are new or don't know how to, please be patience with yourself you can do this.
You are more than welcome to ask questions in the comments were we can try to explain the best we can.

Which way interests you to try or have tried before?

Thank you for stopping by really appreciate it, have a fabulous Day/Evening!
