UK will create national cryptocurrency in 2018
The central bank of Great Britain plans to create British national cryptocurrency, tied to the pound sterling. It can approve this idea in 2018.
Experts of the Bank of England started studying the possibility of creating an analog of cryptocurrency in 2015. It’s reported that electronic money should be tied to the national currency of Great Britain - the pound sterling.
The decision to create a national cryptocurrency will be taken within 12 months based on the report of the research team. It’s noted that in the case of starting the circulation of the cryptocurrency British citizens will be able to abandon conventional banks and store money in digital form. The coin will be used for large-scale transactions "per nanoseconds".
The central banks of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and China are also working on the creation of their own national cryptocurrencies.
