Mercury in Scorpio has been a busy boy today. Early this morning he formed a trine with Neptune in Pisces and a few hours later, he connected in a square with Mars in Aquarius. If this sounds like a contradictory energy to you ... well, you're right. Trines are easy. Squares are not. But coming in a quick one-two sequence like this suggests the set-up for a fast moving response.
Let's review the players quickly. Mercury is the symbol for your mind, your ability to form ideas, your intellectual self -- lots of wonderful left brain stuff. Neptune represents your inspiration, your intuition, your imagination -- lots of wonderful right brain stuff. (Right there you can see a nice partnership between all your mental faculties.) Mars represents physical energy, your ability to do work and take action.
So ... how does this line up as a forecast of coming events?

Mercury trine Neptune ---> This is a nice partnership between your intellect and your imagination ... suggesting lots of creative potential. It usually expresses through language and visual art -- literature, poetry, drama, painting, performance art, movies and video presentations. But it also brings visions and fantasies of things you want to do ... the kind of life you want to build -- "if only."
It also sharpens your intuition so that you understand what's going on with other people, with yourself, with situations that don't necessarily reveal the whole truth right away. You're able to read the currents of emotion and unspoken thoughts as clearly as if they were written down for you.
It may give you some terrific ideas on where to take your creative efforts ... a step up to the next level of mastery. It may show you where to find good reception for your work ... and what possibilities to explore next.
You are really tuned in to your inner voices for the next several weeks. Listen to them. Make time to simply sit quietly and hear what they want to say. Formal meditation sessions now may be very productive. Watch your fantasies. Pay attention to your dreams. Be aware of synchronicities. The whole realm of symbolism and magic have things they'd like you to hear. The more actively you cooperate, the better.

Mercury square Mars ---> This pushes you to act on your ideas -- quickly, automatically. There is an almost seamless flow from thought into action, from idea into whatever it take to make it happen. You're able to think fast ... and think on your feet. But there's also a fair amount of impatience with this mix. It's possible you may react too fast -- or jump the gun before thinking through all the details ... or spotting potential trouble.
But this honestly shouldn't be a problem. There may be some knee-jerk reactions ... but even if you don't make the best choices ... you can go back and fix them. I say this because the next aspect to Mercury -- coming up in just a few days -- is the sextile to Pluto in Capricorn.

The projects you launch now, the choices you make, will fit nicely into the improved life-direction you're building. If nothing else, they'll teach you some things you'll need to know later ... and let you practice some moves that you might not have tried otherwise.
This is almost a classic progression where ... inspiration leads to excitement and hasty decisions (and responses) but everything works out in the end. The advice from here is keep your mind and your options open ... and get ready to enjoy the ride. It will be interesting ... and fun.

If you don't ... well, this is one place you can learn. We all have to start somewhere ... because we aren't born knowing this stuff. Meanwhile, if you've never seen your horoscope ... and don't have a clue how to work with it, maybe it's time to find out. There are lots of "chart services" on the internet -- some of whom produce decent, readable charts "for free" and some are so awful and confusing that even I can't read them easily -- and I've worked with charts for decades.
One extremely user-friendly chart site is here: AstroLabe. I recommend them if you want a simple, easy-to-read chart. I think they even give a reasonable little interpretive reading of your horoscope as part of the package. You'll need to know your birth information -- day, month, year, time and geographical place. Without all that your chart will have limited accuracy.
Or, if you want to get serious and really talk about this, upvote this post and start a conversation in the comments section sometime in the next six days from the time of publication. We'll go from there depending on what you want to know.

Although sometimes the background pictures in our visual essays support the topic and text, they don't always. Sometimes the connection is clear. Sometimes it's symbolic and subtle. Sometimes, there's no connection at all.
The scenes depict landscapes and natural features, buildings and wildlife. They were chosen because they show something lovely or interesting ... or simply because the photo appealed to me.
Our spectacular and remarkable planet is changing at astonishing speed. Rarely are these changes for the better. Few people seem to know ... or care ... or have the will and power to do anything about this. It may not be long before the world humans have known and lived in for centuries is forever lost. We certainly won't be able to make repairs as fast as we destroyed it.
So a few years ago I began collecting pictures of the way things were ... and still are for now, a record of the beauty we have while it is still ours to love and honor.
