Figure in Motion: Frame 13
Yesterday I drew the thirteenth frame for my new animation project. I didn't have time to post it until today.
To sum up the project for those who don't want to read the post linked above, I'll be making 24 drawings of the same pose from different angles and then putting them together into an animation that gives the viewer a 360° view of the model.
Here's the Thirteenth Drawing
All Completed Frames Side by Side
When it became obvious that the lighting of the photos wasn't lining up nicely, I made a decision: Rather than painstakingly trying to match them all in Photoshop, I'll just reshoot all of the photos once I'm done drawing to ensure consistent lighting conditions.
I don't usually take work in progress photos, but I wanted to show you guys something. I will normally start my drawing with the initial line work to find the shape, then I'll isolate the dark areas, but I won't shade them. Then I'll begin shading with the lighter pencils first (I usually use HB and B) and last I'll do the shadows (4B or 5B).
I really like the way the image looks when it's almost completely shaded, but the shadows are empty. So here's a WIP that's actually from frame 12, but I forgot to share the photo with that post.
It's a really cool surreal effect! Anyway, that's all for now. I'll have another drawing to post soon.
