Gallery in the Tower at Frankfurter Tor in Berlin
In 1965 the VKBD (Verband Bildender Künstler der DDR) the Association of Graphic Arts of the GDR founded the Tower as an exhibition venue. Since 50 years this space has been in the ground floor of Hermann Henselmann's designed North Tower at Frankfurter Tor. Since 1990 it functions as a communal gallery space of the district, exhibiting contemporary position of mainly Berlin artists.
From 2018 - 2019 exhibitions in the Gallery in the Tower will mainly focus on the relationships between humans and their enviroment as well as on the artitistic confrontation with ecology, spirituality, querness, affectivity and the history of the site itself.
