Anarchaforko Anarchapulco Fork Update: 2 Days till Fork! How to Get Involved Now!

With less than two days left until the main event of the fork, I feel it’s important for a bit of a comprehensive update on where things stand now, today. Truth is things are changing by the hour and I have no idea what to expect as far as how many people are coming or what will for sure happen.

I’ll start by saying this year is small and experimental. The goal here is just to show people what is possible so they can really start to digest and plan for next year. If things go well to at least a basic extent, we plan to have the kinks worked out for next fork within the next few months, allowing ample time for people to plan.

If there’s one thing I noticed while talking to people at Anarchapulco it was that they ALL had a desire to come and be involved, but our late timing made it extremely difficult for most people to plan to stay. We will do our best to avoid this next year with what we’ve learned from our adventures with this first year.

Honestly we have no idea what’s going to happen in terms of how many people or what for sure will go down, as there’s not much actually recorded on the calendar.

One person who’s gone above and beyond in spreading the vision that is the fork is @kennyskitchen. Today he put out a status on Facebook that I feel is work copying and pasting here, because he managed to say a lot of what I’ve been trying to say way better than I’ve been able to say it.

“Hello beautiful humans of Anarchapulco!
If you're still in town, hopefully you're coming out to Anarchaforko this Friday-Sunday, over in the main bay.
I know a lot of folks have been having a little difficulty grokking what exactly the fork is, so I wanted to break it down a little bit for everybody.
The fork is a DIY, open-source, decentralized conference. That means that the focalizers (John & Lily) have locked in a venue, and set up the website with the calendar, but most everything else is up to us, the participants.
If you want to be part of a free-style session, put it on the calendar. If you want to have a brainstorming session on a topic, put it on the calendar. If you want there to be a debate, put it on the calendar. There will be a concert of some sort on Saturday, want to come perform?
As soon as you buy a ticket, you get access to the calendar, and you receive an affiliate link to share, and you receive 50% of the sales from everyone who buys through it. I'm offering everyone who buys through me a 25% discount from the regular price (I'll give you half of the affiliate payout that I get)
Here's my link: https://anarchaforko.com/tickets/ref/34/
There are quite a few wonderful folks who I know are planning offerings for the weekend, including Erika, Starr, Larken, Amanda, Danny, Winston, Howard... Though at the moment only Erika, the Stateless Documentaryteam, and I have put anything on the calendar.
If you've go anything in mind, please get it up on the calendar soon! The lack of events is holding some back from making a decision I think.
Down in the comments, you'll find the events I have scheduled so far: Anarchist Trivia Night, a recording session for the Steemit Open Mic, and an interactive workshop on presence & connection.
I love you all! Have a beautiful day!”

@kennyskitchen thank you for understanding what we’re trying to do here and doing what you can to help us make it a reality! We need more people like you!

@erikaharris took time to update us on her plans for the fork in the last few days which we seriously appreciate! She’s also done a lot of one on one fork talk with others and we’ve noticed! Thanks! If you’re interested in purchasing a ticket to the fork and you support @erikaharris, consider using this link to purchase your ticket which will give her half of the ticket price as a part of our affiliate program!

@larkenrose and @dragonanarchist are going to be there, likely chatting and playing music during the three days of the main event. They’ve also privately mentioned other ideas that I won’t announce for them.

To anyone else on the fence about coming: This year is more about kickstarting a new concept and less about getting a bunch of ticket sales. We want to get people’s gears turning so we can really develop what this thing could be next year and possibly in the years to come. Our attempts this year in many ways is our last minute attempt to show people exactly what is possible, which honestly is a lot more than we even imagined when we embarked on this thing.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions that I feel are worth answering publicly. We’ve admittedly been burnt out from Anarchapulco the past several days but are doing our best to get things ready for this thing.
How do I get involved?
Start by purchasing a ticket, from our website at anarchaforko.com. We only accept cryptocurrency but have a trusted friend who’s been purchasing tickets for people with fiat using Paypal for anyone who cannot pay in crypto but would still like to come. From there you can add events or even sell tickets yourself to earn half the ticket price in crypto back.
How do I Add an Event to the calendar?

I’ve gotten this question a lot in the last several days and while we intended to have a video showing people the process, time didn’t allow that to happen. Fortunately the process is simple enough to explain here in text.
You’ll need a ticket to do so, and the login information that comes with it. If you’ve purchased a ticket but haven’t gotten emails about the ticket and the affiliate information, check your spam folder. Contact us if you’re still having issues.

From there go to the website, anarchaforko.com, and click on the Calendar tab. That’ll give you the option to add an event, which will prompt you to login. You’ll then be given a form to fill out and submit, which will add your event to the calendar. Once it’s submitted, it should display immediately on the calendar page for anyone to see. These events can be edited if need be.

Events can be added a few hours before they happen, keep that in mind!

If you’re in need of a private space to do whatever it is you want to do during the main event, consider reserving a room for the time that you need it. We have three rent-able rooms left (for a fee depending on time and space needed) and 12 open rooms on a first come first serve basis. These are great for anything from a store to an office to a place to give a talk or workshop. The schedule for those is still wide open, contact me if you want to reserve a space! Click here for detailed information on those rooms. Click here for the most up to date schedule for those rooms

Where is the fork?

We’re holding the main event at the Acapulco International Center for the dates of February 23-25. Yes, that’s right, this Friday doors to the property open at 9 am and doors to the building open at 10 am. I encourage early arrival just to have some time to explore the huge outdoor grounds before the day gets too hot. The doors will be open all day until 10 pm.

There will be two entrances, one for those that drive and one for those who walk. Anyone walking in should come through the Costera entrance where the big white canopies are. It’s a straight shot into the center of the property, with a fairly easy path to where the fork is actually to be held. The other entrance will be on the opposite side of the property, where the parking lot is held. Parking will cost 30 pesos per car per day from my understanding.

After the 25th the fork will continue for those that stay in town. From that point on the location will be random, likely based on the event. For example a central market trip would be a great fork event, as would a kids day at a water park. The goal is to provide a means to organize for those who want to stay in town for longer to see what Acapulco has to offer.

Where to stay?

We have a group discount with the Copacabana Hotel for the duration of the fork but we also encourage people to get creative with where they stay, especially if they’re staying for more than just the main event.

What will we do?
It’s important to make clear once again that what we do is totally up to all of you. What do you want to do?
There are a few events on the calendar and hopefully that will blossom more as people start to come up with ideas of what they want to see happen at this thing.
We expect the first day to be a social day that’s likely going to be very loose in schedule. We expect there to be lots of discussions to be had and plans to be made for the following days.
Sunday, the 25th is intended to be the Steemfest Fork.
Other than that it’s up to you guys!

Good! Sunday on 25th all are free too!

I like it. Thanks for effort =)

Don't forget to announce Binance voting for SmartCash in this big and remarkable event our dearest @lily-da-vine.

Thank you for the update! Unfortunately with the dip In cryptos, I have just not enough BCH. So I went on to Coinbase to put in my new credit card to by some BCH. Unfortunately, it won't allow me to put in the expiration date on the card. It will allow me to do 10/22 but it is actually 01/22 and it does not count the 0 so it shows up 012/2 which is of course invalid. So I may have to pay in fiat. I also tried getting on Coinbase on my computer and of course have to do 2 step verification with them sending me a text, which I cannot receive texts here in Mexico. So yea, Fiat is my only option.

Love it! One day we will blaze! Be awesome!
