Aid Venezuela | A look at the crisis: Summary of the humanitarian situation in Venezuela.

In Venezuela, the political situation continues to affect the social and economic aspects of the nation, keeping the population immersed in an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, the main responsible being President Nicolás Maduro Moros, who in a long presidential period has not been able to stop the growing inflation that has hit the country and at the same time applying government plans with a practically non-existent execution in which he constantly blames the United States for a media and economic blockade that has prevented him from bringing the nation into being. However, these accusations have been denied by the parliament when it observed how the government has been involved in economic movements for the purchase of arms, personal accounts with multimillion-dollar sums, cases of drug trafficking associated with the regime, among others.

Figures

The number of deaths due to malnutrition or lack of medicines continues to increase, as well as the number of newborns and people in a hospital situation who have lost their lives due to the lack of resources in institutions or access to them.

For the date of June 07, 2019 the general figures analyzed by the National Assembly of Venezuela give us an approximate total:

  • 324000 children under 5 years of age with food vulnerability due to hyperinflation.
  • 3500 Venezuelans at risk of dying from the suspension of the National Organ Procurement Program.
  • 4500 renal patients have died due to shortage of supplies.

  • 6.7 million people are at food and nutritional risk.
  • 11.8 million Venezuelans live on the monthly minimum wage (which covers only 5% of the basic food basket).

Likewise, the number of children killed in the J.M de los Ríos hospital increases to 7 in the haematology service alone, while the number of children at risk of dying from the same causes has risen to 26.

Sixth country on the list of the world's most forgotten crises:

According to a report prepared by the Norwegian Refugee Council, Venezuela ranks sixth as one of the countries with the most forgotten crises in the world, this list is headed by Africa, shows those countries that under certain political, economic and social problems, have been the most neglected in the face of the humanitarian crisis they are living.

Venezuela remains on this list for the second consecutive year, as it does not present a real situation on the part of any entity that can solve the problems it faces.

Keep helping:

Venezuela has still not found a solution that would at least stabilize the humanitarian situation of Venezuelans. Hospitals, companies, public spaces and other factors suffer day by day from the deterioration and lack of raw materials to operate, where we also add a hyperinflation that increases day by day at increasingly alarming speeds.

"Socio-economic crisis + lack of solutions = Humanitarian crisis."

More than 7 million Venezuelans are in need of urgent humanitarian aid, where hundreds of people die every week because they cannot afford their basic expenses or food.

The country continues to receive a lot of attention from neighboring nations, yet few have a real commitment to support and expect to see the evolution of the political aspect.

From our project we will continue to support as many Venezuelans as possible in various regions of the country and although we are still working in the capital and central region of the country we hope to continue to grow and receive more support to diversify into more remote regions of east and west.
