Alcoholism: Celebrating Three Months Of Sobriety!

in #addiction7 years ago (edited)

Can you believe I missed the 90-day sobriety post?

The calendar is always checked before these posts are made to make sure the days are correct and I really thought I counted 89 days yesterday. Either way...

..... WOOOOOOOOOOH!

The third-month of sobriety is here!

Last week(it could be two now, time has been flying), I wrote about Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome and how I was feeling extremely tired throughout the day and had cloudy thinking.

I am happy to report that I have not been taking three-hour naps during the day anymore!

My thinking still feels a little off, but I am sure that will improve with time.

I have still been keeping myself extremely busy to keep my mind occupied.

I completed the Best-Practices Community Challenge today, which required 7 quality posts and 500 comments in 10 days. I joined on the third day and managed to fulfill the requirements in 7 days time! It required a lot of time and quite a bit of multitasking around the house, but I managed it!

The kids are keeping me busy as always and they have managed a lot of swimming this summer!

Overall, I feel really great. I am more productive than ever. I am happier than I have been in a long time and I am gaining some weight back. Those are all wonderful positives.

Here's to three more months and to three more months after that and to three more months....

Congrats it can be real tough...Love the Vivian meme!!

Thanks @immetal6669!

Yes, I liked it too!

I quit smoking for a year and a half!

Congratulations @hebro! That is the next task on my list.

Awesome man! Congrats. That's a huuuuuge deal. I've gone through some very similar stuff over the years. And yes! You will improve. Things will get better.

Life becomes so busy and active, that the old wagon won't seem as attractive. I've started writing about my personal journey in recovery on Steemit and it has been very therapeutic. I hope writing about your triumphs gives you an outlet.

I wish you well on your continued sobriety. Followed. Really enjoyed this post man.

It's nice to know there are others writing about their experience with addiction. It's very helpful to many others.

As each day passes it does seem to become easier. I keep myself very busy because being idle for me leaves too much time to think at this point.

Thanks for following and I will be able to check out your post too!

Keep it up man I agree it's boring, but replace it with getting this money!!

Lol, That was sarcasm but it can be hard to convey at times over the net. I have purposefully kept myself so busy that I do not have time to be bored. Steemit has been a major part of my journey to achieving sobriety. I have blogged about it on here since day 1.

Well hey, I'm proud of you. I'm a beer drinker myself but it does make me lazy and unmotivated. I don't like that.

Thanks for that.

If you can do it in moderation and do not let it consume you, it's ok to have those lazy days now and again. If it starts becoming multiple days a week you may want to reconsider. Drinking was a seven day a week thing for me.

I take that back...ol...I do like the feeling of drinking...But only in a celebratory form...Drinking with no accomplishment can make me at times feel very depressed.

There's no problem with celebrating every now and then with a drink. I'm just not the person that can do that.

I wish you congratulations! I have not had alcohol since 2015

Wow, that is great to hear. 12 years is a long time. Thank you for the congratulations.

that's awesome dude!Congrats

That's great to hear, man. Keep it up! You're definitely making a great life choice :)

I will keep it up! It sure does feel like a good life choice.
