The first day of my trip to the coffee growing regions of Brazil - with me @c0ff33a ☕️
This is day one of my trip to Brazil, I had actually planned to do a post yesterday mid journey but the flights and connections proved to be such a nightmare I had no time - and once flying there was no internet. It took a full 24 hours to get from the UK to Belo Horizonte in Brazil, 3 flights Manchester to Frankfurt, Frankfurt to Rio De Janeiro (10 hours flight) and then Rio to Belo Horizonte.

It became much nicer up above the clouds!
Finally in the City of Belo Horizonte I took the afternoon to walk around and see the sights
Lovely fountains, but this is a city ruled by roads - and they are very busy.
These trees were colourful with their purple flowers, many of the food outlets have street seating - it is actually Winter in Brazil but being from the UK it is still warmer here then our summer!
I found some resplendent street art while walking around, all that airport travelling and walking around this city in Brazil has given me a new step record - over 15k woo!
Sunny now, but by 5.30pm it was already dark!
More art, Belo is a very clean and well decorated city.
They have brave pigeons here, these decided to walk right up to me while I was sat on the outside decking of a coffee shop. Tomorrow morning at 7am I take a 4 hour drive up the mountains to the coffee plantations, and will be staying on a coffee farm while seeing the plants, picking the coffee cherries and seeing how the farmer processes the cherries and get's them ready for shipping out to coffee roasters around the world like me. I am going to try and make a daily update post - but I have no idea what the internet will be like - on the hotel wifi now these pictures took forever to upload each one!
Day one of my trip to Brazil - the flights were arduous and Frankfurt airport required two security checks - including removing boots for scanning - even though I was making a connecting flight.

Welcome to the biggest tropical country in the world, where even the winters are hot and despite the size of the country we almost never have snow here. Snow in Brazil is a thing of another planet.

Airport security is tight these days. That is for sure. No such thing as only be cleared once for security. Those were the good old days.
