Steem Basic Income
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

We have ten pools, so your upvotes could come from @steembasicincome, @sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, @sbi6, @sbi7, @sbi8, @sbi9 or @sbi10. The number of members that have posted within the last 28 days continues to increase slowly. As of today, there are 3833 active members. There are also many more members that have not posted. Unfortunately, the members that are not posting are not receiving upvotes. As of today, there are 71508 subscription ‘units’ in the program, and it grows every day.
Yesterday I listened to a podcast about self-publishing. Ray Edwards, a copywriter, author and speaker was the guest. One question that stood out was about how he found time to write. His answer amazed me: He only writes an hour a day. This man produces a ton of content on his blog, for his clients and he publishes entire books!
Granted, he has a few tricks up his sleeve, like dictating instead of typing. But still, to produce so much content in such a short time is amazing. It convinced me I really have no excuse. Most of us don’t. If you focus and make time to post each day, SBI will be there to reward you. So make the time, get the upvote and stockpile that Steem until we get to the moon - or you buy Steem Monster cards. Which would you chose?
Delegation Bonus
Existing members can receive bonus units from delegation. For every 10 SP delegated to @steembasicincome, members will receive 1 bonus unit. These bonus units will be removed if the delegation is withdrawn. Currently each unit receives an average weekly voting value of 0.0060.
@sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, @sbi6, @sbi7, @sbi8, @sbi9 and @sbi10 are managed to target multiples (e.g. 200 shares ~ 400 SP, 500 shares ~1000 SP, etc.) For this reason we ask that members that are delegating for bonus units always delegate to pool 1 and we will manage the SP flow into the lower pools appropriately. If you want to fill SP orders through minnowbooster's market, you are of course welcome to fill the orders going to lower pools. Please do not combine filling orders for pool 1 (@steembasicincome) with delegating for bonus units.

Any Steemian that is already enrolled in @steembasicincome can delegate as much as they would like, to receive bonus units. If you are not already a member but would like to delegate, please send an enrollment transaction to @steembasicincome and we will add your bonus at the time we process your enrollment.

Enrollment
If you want to get involved, or to increase the level of basic income that you receive, enrollment is pretty straightforward:
Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 unit in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

Am I correct in assuming if I wish to enroll someone for 5 shares I simply just send 5 Steem with their name in the memo?

You are correct in how to enroll someone for 5 shares.
To increase the likelihood of your contest making our listings, please also link it in the contests channel of our Discord server. We usually check there first and then check #steembasicincome only if there aren't enough contests yet for a good list.

Hi @steembasicincome wondering if you can help. For the past few months @ssg-community has been buying SBI shares for some of its members, I don't have exact figures to hand but I'd estimate approx 200. Why has the % at which steembasicincome been upvoting ssg2been decreasing? We were getting a 4/5% upvote now its only 2%. Ssg-community posts once per day. Ohh by the way this is @welshstacker acting on behalf of the community bot(ssg-community). Thanks guys, keep up the good work.
Most likely, even though you have been growing your size, the pool you are in has been growing more quickly. That would result in a decline in your relative weight (voting weight).
I'm only showing 137, but it looks like there are some pending that haven't been processed yet.
