Animated Paintovers
An artist made this digital painting, then asked me for a paintover (in a public forum many years ago, see below).
I did this, he said it helped. Let me know if you want one too, I will do my best to try to give some useful feedback. :)
In this particular case I actually made 2 paintovers, one with a strong directional light from her front - same lighting as the original basically.
And one more, where I tried to make it more like realistic moon light. Note how desaturated the colors are, and the narrow range of values. Also the light direction has changed.
