I'm making a new DJ Mix - here's a behind the scenes sneak peek! (Video)
Greetings Steemit,
I've posted about my life long Musical pursuits before - so I'll pass on the wide winded description in this post's intro. (You can read more about that, for context if interested, in my Intro post linked below.)
"Music" is my happy place, and when I'm in that moment lost in a beat, I am as close to 'center' as any other moment thus far experienced. I feel so relaxed in these states of mind that it seems to be contagious in some sense, and energetically rubs off on any interested parties around me.
I've worn the DJ hat for 15+ years now: whether it was on Vinyl Turntables, CDJs, both Analog & Digital Synthesizers - I've played on them all. The setup I'm using now is a very compact and capable collection created by 'Native Instruments'. The devices are colorful and offer an incredibly concise workflow when midi-mapped to your liking.
In short: Its fun to push all the buttons - so I decided to share a sneak peek behind the scenes clip of myself working on a brand new, yet unfinished & untitled DJ mix.
Watching this footage while editing - I had 2 observations:
- This is the vantage point that everyone else is used to seeing when I play, however I rarely get to see this view point, so I enjoyed that.
- This is definitely an example of myself being completely lost & 'In my Element'.
So if interested - here's about half a mix I'm still working on. Since its mostly a 'Working DJ session' recorded here, and I'm focusing on the track phrasing / cue point live looping, there isn't any live finger drumming as usual. You can be assured that the final product will include far more buttons being pressed... as is the way of my people.
If my above referenced theory on this Energy being contagious is accurate, I hope these Big Drum & Bass sounds and my silly dancing leaves you smiling.
Audio recorded using: Traktor Pro 2, Traktor Kontrol X1, & Maschine MK2. All of my DJ recordings are Mixed Live, and never Sync'd.

Question: Is there anything (including this) you can produce where 30 seconds to 2 minutes could be used for projects royalty free for projects? Or could we buy a segment like that? I'm thinking for intros for youtube videos etc.
It just depends on the project. I posted a new post tonight, with more live music stuff, that may show more of what is possible.
