Governor of New Hampshire Declares Legal Cannabis The Next Major Battle
The government has been fighting a war against drugs (and losing miserably) for several decades now. After all that time drugs are still winning.
Now, the governor of NH wants to reignite the nonsense all over again, having recently declared cannabis legalization as the next major battle to contend with.
This is a state that operates with the official motto: Live Free or Die.
Governor C. Sununu has reportedly recruited help from an anti-cannabis lobbyist to spread the message that legal cannabis in the state of NH would infringe upon the state's efforts in attempting to address the opioid crisis.
Someone might want to show Sununu some of the research that has recently indicated that legal cannabis helps to decrease fatal opioid overdoses.
Medical cannabis has been shown to reduce opioid prescriptions and surveys show that it's been preferred by many patients as a safer alternative over opioids to managing their pain symptoms.
Sununu has already made it clear that he plans to veto any cannabis legalization bill that might end up on his desk. As well, they reportedly hope that their marketing efforts will effectively relay the message to people in the region that Big Tobacco and Big Pharma are morphing into Big Marijuana and they don't think that the state needs "more access to more drugs”.
Despite the opposition from the top however, lawmakers have suggested that we might see cannabis legalized regardless. Other political figures in NH have signaled that there might be enough support from the Senate and House of Representatives to override a veto from Sununu and that legal cannabis is likely to pass sometime in the near future

What a great photo at the beginning! You would think with a name like "Live free or Die" This would be a easy choice to make! we are legal here now Canada and still theres hardly no stores available to buy marijuana one just opened in Vancouver but they are very few to find! theres still so much legalities and hoops to jump through, plus its a new process that it will be at least a year or two before they figure things out better to suit the masses and the governments Federal and Provincial!
Great post @doitvoluntarily , upped earlier now resteemed!💁👍✌
Crazy... But Thailand's going to be able to help and Mexico is really moving...
Cannabis community is growing!
What a world. I once believed that states had rights that trumped federal government rights. It made sense when I thought checks and balances and the Constitution were something substantial. However, I eventually realized that only individuals can have rights. If the State claims rights the individuals do not possess, it blows apart even the counterfeit lessons from civics class.
PA is next with Gov Wolf saying he is finally on board and a Pitt rep bringing a full legalization bill to the floor soon....
Always the words, Soon.. we shall see.
What happened to the free state project? Last place I expected to see this.

I've always been in favour of legalization and felt it is beyond absurd to try to outlaw a plant. I've also written about the benefits that I derived from pot - such as greatly reduced blood pressure and help with insomnia. Plus I really just liked it. A lot.
On the other hand, it kind of stopped working for me. I smoked so much my lungs were really messed up and I was becoming paranoid. I smoked for many years and I was easily doing an eighth ounce or more daily.
I strongly feel that people should be allowed to do as they like, but for me, I've had to stop - and it surprised the hell out of me that it was difficult. It's now been almost three weeks since I had a toke and my lungs are feeling better but I'm still very nervous and kind of freaked out.
The government should stay the hell out of our business - but I've stopped for now on my own. I want to use edibles instead but you can't get them in the city of Victoria because of a single complaint from some "concerned citizen."
I hate the legalization of cannabis.
We should be working on decriminalization of cannabis.
We, the little people, are having the wool pulled over our eyes.
Everything about the war on drugs is a lie.
But, if they said we need to throw more (preferably non-violent) people in jail, people wouldn't go for it.
If the bureaucrats said that we need to limit supply of drugs to force prices up so that we could get filthy rich off of it, people wouldn't go for it.
And the biggest lie is Hollywood.
The show the "drug dealers" making a deal over a suitcase of "stuff".
That isn't the way it happens.
Think semi-truck loads, rolling every day.
Think of all the people that have to be in on it for that to happen.
