Analysis of Contests: Report #01
Steemit curation team's dedicated support has resulted in a thriving contest environment. It is evident by the success of initiatives such as the Steemit Engagement Challenge and the Team Millionaire initiatives.
The platform is experiencing a surge in contest participation & organizers, with an average of 100 active participants daily. Despite this success, certain contests remain challenged in attracting significant participation.
To gain a clearer understanding of contest engagement, I’m introducing a new initiative that provides a comprehensive overview of contest participation, focusing particularly on the impact of new contests with novel themes on overall contest participation. Let us take a closer look at the data from the previous week.

On January 23rd (Monday), a total of 12 contests reached their expiration date. Out of these contests, the highest number of participants were recorded in two contests, with a total of 13 contenders in each. On the other hand, the contest with the least number of participants only had 2 contenders. On the whole, there were 93 entries recorded on January 23rd, resulting in an average of 8 entries per contest.

On the other hand, the contest with the least number of participants only had 4 contenders. A total of 77 contests reached the deadline by 29th January.
During the week, there were a total of 635 contest submissions.
The average number of entries per contest for this week is 8. About 57% of contests struggle to attract more than 8 or more contenders.
The photography category has the highest level of participation among all the contests.
I hope contest organizers, curation teams & Steemit team find this information helpful in getting a better idea of contests and the overall environment. And for the organizers, if a certain idea isn't quite hitting the mark, there's always the opportunity to come up with something new and exciting!
