Here's my application to join #TheAlliance

How did you find #TheAlliance?

I'd heard whispers here and there about #TheAlliance since joining Steemit (late December). I spoke a few times with @saffisara (a really friendly hat-wearer). At the time I was involved with another community which ate up a lot of time and energy and and and, well... What can I say? I was young and foolish.

Anyway, last night I was having a few drinks with my mates at The Tavern in the #CryptoEmpire. We were in conversation when @enginewitty entered. He didn't say anything out loud but we watched him. He went straight to the bar and ordered a pint. Just like that! I asked for a spiced rum but it didn't arrive. After a while, I decided to see what he was up to. Maybe they were sold out of rum in which case a brandy would have to do. That's when I noticed he'd forgotten all about my drink and had, instead, opened The Alliance Embassy in the #CryptoEmpire.

So, I got curious and went in to have a nose around.

Why do you want to be here?

The Alliance encourages and supports a standard for quality content and I'd love to be involved. If this platform has any chance at longevity we need to encourage and support original creators of first-rate work. I see a lot of quantity flooding the trending and hot pages but the quality is... erm... well, you know.

Reciprocity and loyalty are important to me. A community works best if its members pull together, support and learn from each other (and not just professionally). After reading further, I see that #TheAlliance does this in spades. I've got no time for takers or parasites coasting on the backs of others. I value honesty and genuine people doing their best to make lives better for others (and themselves).

What qualities do you have that would make you a valued member of the family?

Steeming is my #1 hobby even though I'm still finding my feet, trying to learn how it all works. I'm into reading and writing on all manner of subjects. I am curious about people, learning about their ideas, hobbies, cultures, travels, beliefs.

I already practice many of the values #TheAlliance upholds. I post a blog nearly every day and enjoy discussing the subject in the comments section. When I find interesting content by others, I comment, upvote and encourage. If it's a subject I can engage with, I get stuck in.

I also like to make genuine friendships here although it's sometimes tricky to spot the manipulators and fakers :D. Friends are the family you choose for yourself, right.

I love my #CryptoEmpire family too but I'm also a bit of a tart and like to share my genes with other original individuals. It's always nice to gain more family members.

Sometimes I write fun articles to provide a bit of light entertainment, sometimes I dig deep and get a bit sciencey, sometimes I indulge my creative writing tendencies. I've posted the occasional meme too.

Mostly, I like to have fun.
