The Curation and Engagement Leagues 🏆 - STEEM prizes available! 🎁

in #engagement6 years ago

Welcome to this weeks Curation and Engagement leagues, kindly sponsored by the awesome @curie!

Did you know that in 2018, the Curation and Engagement league's prizes now total over 450 STEEM/SBD!

Can we top last weeks Steemit Hit Parade Comments rank?

To enter the leagues drop a comment below (for a lifetime membership - you need ask to be removed)

The league tables are reset each week and so any time is a good time to join!

On your marks, get set, curate!

Curation tips

My general views on curation rewards (to score highly in League 1) are:

  • Vote before the big hitters, but not too early!

  • Voting in the first minute will earn you a curation reward of almost 0.000

  • Voting between 1 and 29 minutes will earn an increasing % of the curation rewards split - This value peaking at 30 minutes and remaining the same from this point onwards

  • It is commonly suggested that 15-25 minutes is the best time to vote, especially on known 'power author' posts because they are likely to have more auto-votes coming in at these times - and you want to be ahead of these votes

  • Voting on good dtube/dlive/sndbox content, and utopian-io approved contributions (prior to the vote by @dtube / @utopian-io, etc) can earn some very good curation rewards

  • Voting on @ocd posts is likely to gain good curation rewards as founder @acidyo, and @anomadsoul support these posts after giving time for other accounts to vote - you will be in front of a couple of large votes here!

As you can see, a combination of many variables such as Steem Power, voting strength, voting weight, time of vote, and more, all play a part in the amount of rewards received.

My general opinion on maximizing engagement (to score highly in League 2) is to:

  • Spread your vote and write lots of engaging comments!

  • Use your vote on the comments of others to make yourself (vote) seen and provoke a reply with a well-written comment

The data for league 1

The raw data has been collected from SteemSQL - @arcange's MS SQL Server copy of the Steem Blockchain.

The formula used for 'quality of financial curation skill' is:

Curation Rewards DIVIDED BY Steem Power MULTIPLIED BY 1000

This will return the amount of Curation rewards gained per 1000 Steem Power held

The rules (which will cause auto-filtering of your account if not met so just enter anyway and see what happens!) to appear in this league:

  • No programmed voting! Following a trail is OK, using a script to vote for you is not (but well done if you have done that!)

  • Must have voted at least once on a piece of content in the past 7 days

  • Must not have leased or delegated Steem Power in the last 14 days

  • Must not have Started a Power Down (withdrawal of Steem Power) in the last 15 days

The 2nd and 3rd points above are not 'bad' actions, but are required to reduce distortion of the figures.

And, as curation rewards for the past week are actually taken from votes made up to 14 days ago, we need a two week 'window' as mentioned above.

Don't let this put you off entering though - you will be automatically be excluded/appear each week, depending on the criteria above.

League 1 - Curation / Rewards based

The end column is what I think is a genuine indicator of how well you are financially working the curation game with the tools, including vested Steem Power, that you have at your disposal.

League 2 - Engagement - Sponsored by @curie

This the newer league which is not based around financial rewards and relates to engagement.

Everyone currently on my master list has a chance here - including those powering down or dealing in delegations this past couple of weeks.

I've used some metrics (which is the fancy way of saying that made up some numbers) relating to:

  • Posts (P)
  • Comments - number of (C)
  • Comments - replies to replies - depth > 2 (C R)
  • Comments - length in characters (C L)
  • Witness votes (W) (for those proxying witness votes, your total is always 30)
  • Upvotes to others (V)
  • Upvotes to different authors (U V)
  • Self-votes - a (getting smaller each week) minus score for this one sorry! (S V)

Firstly, if you are placed in the table above then you among the top 20% of the league entrants!

Congratulations to this weeks Engagement League winner, @janton! 🏆

3rd last week, @janton has stepped up the pace with a huge number of comments and lower level 'conversational' replies to take this weeks top prize :D

Lovely @lynncoyle1 is back in the top 3 where she has spent much of the past few months and this week is joined by lucky number 25 sponsor, @fullcoverbetting.

Well done to the top 3, and a special mention to @glenalbrethsen who finished at the top but is currently sitting out of the prize pool - Legend!

Excellent engagement levels also from @eaglespirit, @gillianpearce, @bashadow, @themanwithnoname, @funbobby51, @mepatriot, and @mad-runner who will all be receiving some STEEM this week.

Those without a self-vote (from their main account at least! 😱) and placed in the top 30 ish will also receive a little STEEM. These people are: @emmakkayluv, @karamyog, @mountianjewel, @maverickinvictus, @dedicatedguy, @cicisaja, and @insideoutlet.

Do you want to be a part of the leagues? Let me know below!

Thank you @abh12345 and to @curie for finding value in this whole process:) Congratulations to @janton especially this week! You kept saying that you saw me everywhere, but in the end, you were more places then me!! And to @glenalbrethsen, humbly giving up the prize...shows to your character my friend!

Thanks again Asher, and Happy Father's Day buddy :)

Congratulations, @lynncoyle1 on second prize. I didn’t see you much last week, but apparently that’s because you and @janton were hanging out in the same places. :)

re: humility
All I know is I feel better doing it this way for now than I was when I was receiving a prize. So, that’s just me trying to feel good about all of this. I’m still very glad to be a part of it and see others participating and having success.

Whatever we're going to call it @glenalbrethsen, it's a very nice thing for you to do!

Thank you very much Lynn!

Happy Father's day!! I hope your day is good.

Awww Thank you!

Hey, @abh12345! I hope you had a good Fathers Day. I probably had a little more sweets than I should have, but I survived and so I guess we'll see what another week brings. :)

There’s another good mixture of ‘oldtimers’ and newcomers in the Top 10 this week. Seems like we’re getting that more and more every week. I hope that means more and more people are joining and continuing to participate than it means that we’ve been losing people to the lower STEEM prices.

Thanks as always for the leagues, Asher. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the best weekly contest/challenge on the blockchain.

Thanks to @curie for the sponsorship. I certainly hope we’re all putting it to good use.

Congratulations to all the winners! I hope everyone feels like they’re accomplishing something week to week. Engagement is a great endeavor. Let’s keep it up!

Thank you very much!

The past few years mine have been a little 'indifferent' shall we say, I'm hope yours was a good one filled with chocolates 😊

Thanks to you guys, the leagues march on - a weekly fixture in @arcange's top 10 most commented on posts - how fitting.

Congratulations on top spot, and thanks for 'sharing' the prize out to the ones below.

I've had one or two where I was the only one there. :) It wasn't so much indifference as it was having something better to do. Actually, it was the kids and my wife going on vacation and it was either Fathers Day or my birthday (which I've celebrated by myself a few times, too).

This time, it worked out very nice, though the chocolate level was somewhat intentionally reduced. I think I sat there in a sugar induced coma with what I did consume for about twenty minutes. There was a definite buzz going on, which is really weird. It's not like I'm not accustomed to sweets. :)

Yeah I've had a few of those too, like Sunday. Anyway, onwards to next years - hopefully some more engagement there!

As far as chocolate, I don't each much of it but will occasionally have a piece or two of dark cocoa-rich stuff. Good for you apparently, feel the buzz 😊

howdy there everyone with special thanks to @abh12345 and @curie for putting this on and congrats to all the leaders. The superwriter and supercommentor @glenalbrethsen is completely amazing and sets a great example and role model to follow so thank you sir!
God bless you all!

Congratulations @janton on topping the list (excluding Glen) this week, much deserved!

thank you sir for all you are doing to help others, that's a great role model also! actually I don't really consider myself to have won because of Glen but I am honored (and shocked) to be placed in 2nd.

Congratulations on the win, @janton. You were really out and about making the rounds. It seems like you're making good progress on here. Keep at it and those prizes will add up in no time. You could be a whale in the making. :)

lol! howdy from Texas @themanwithnoname! Well, I don't know if I'm going to stick with this or not so we'll see, it's rather addicting though because of the social aspect. And as far as the contest I was just hoping to be in the top 10 so that was a shock.

Plus I consider @glenalbrethsen to be the winner and I simply could not do what he does but I'm happy with 2nd place.

hey are you a big Spaghetti Western fan? I still think those are the best westerns ever made and that username is one of the very best on here!
so good to hear from you sir, you did pretty darn good yourself in the contest!

Hey @janton! I think you should stick around. That's just my personal opinion though. If you're planning on making Steemit a thing that you do for any considerable period of time, the Engagement League will help keep you engaged and active. It's easy to feel lost on steemit, but if you have people that you routinely interact with, it makes things easier.

Placing in the top 10 is an accomplishment and you should be proud. I've only topped the league once and that took a lot of work. The prizes are much bigger now, so you'll do well financially if you keep doing well in the league.

@glenalbrethsen has generously chosen not to accept the prize money for now, but if you consistently give him a run for his money, he might start taking them again. He spends a lot of time on here, but I think you've shown that you're a contender.

I am a big spaghetti western fan. They're some great movies. I like to watch them from time to time. That's where I got the inspiration for my name. Also, I don't give a name, so it's a little more anonymous.

I try to place in the top 10 every week. Even though I don't really expect to take any of the top prizes, I still try to get in the top 10. Then I know that I've done well throughout the week, and I get a prize that I can power up to help me on my journey.

It was nice to meet you and I hope to see you around. If you even want to start a comment conversation (or commentversation) hit me up and we'll chat about something. ;)

Hey @themanwithnoname! Congratulations for the Top 10 finish. You seemed to come and go a lot last week, so once again you and others are proving quality time over quantity.

We are getting new people who are contending for higher places and it’s all good. I’m glad to see it. Things do get serious, I will get back into it.

As it is, I thought I’d have a higher CL count than I ended up with, so maybe I need to keep track of it, too. Every time I go estimating numbers, I’m waaaaay off. I can add them up, I just can’t forecast them. I’m a writer, not an economist!

Yeah, I ended up inadvertently taking a few days off last week. That's the way it goes. I think the amount of effort required to get from top 10 to top 3 is considerable. I already spend a lot of time online, so I need to be happy with the results I'm getting. I think it would take much more time to move up in the rankings. I don't want to get burned out, and I want to be able to do things in real life too.

I like it that newer people are coming in. From what I've seen, they might do well one week, but they seem to drop off after that. Some have stuck around though, so let's see if they're able to keep coming back. We still haven't gotten a true contender to beating you, at least not consistently.

I thought I'd have a higher CL than I did as well. I had a number of long replies and you had I had quite a few back and forths. Oh, well. I'm pretty much happy as long as I'm winning a prize, even if that prize is only a 1 Steem for not self-voting. I like to see other people get prizes too as I know how encouraging it can be, so I don't take issue with people passing me in the rankings.

Nothing wrong with being who you are. We're all created different and tend to do best when we play to our strengths. Don't worry about being something you're not. I've spent time thinking about how I'd love to be super technical and figure out the ins and outs of Steem so I could make a ton of money off it, but that's not how I was made/been trained, so I try to just do what I can.

It's just as well that we have things to do other than Steemit to keep our minds refreshed. For some reason I found it hard to get going today, even though I had a day off and didn't work all of Saturday, either. I had every intention when I walked out to the office to get going, but then sat here like I was staring at a brick wall. Finally got going in the late afternoon, but it was kind of aggravating. I did keep busy with some other things—Mondays are generally good for those kinds of distractions, except this time they were helping me feel like I was at least doing something.

So, I don't know what it was, but I kind of had a similar thing last week, and I spent the latter part of the week catching up on posts.

Well, for me the prize isn't the big deal, but I do like doing the best I can each week. And when I feel like I've done that, I'm usually in good shape placement-wise, too. There's always more we can do, but we probably don't need to become machines. That's what we have machines for. :)

There's always more we can do, but we probably don't need to become machines. That's what we have machines for. :)

Amen, brother. We can do it to have fun, but once it becomes something that we're doing just because we're "supposed" to do it, then we might be in trouble... unless we're using it for work, in which case, we need to either knuckle down and get to work, or find another job.

thank you so much @themanwithnoname! lol love that username

I was kind of surprised that it hadn't been taken, but I'm glad that it wasn't. :)

me too. someone else probably would have given that no name a bad name!

then he might be @thebadmanwithnoname. Ha ha.

Congratulations on first prize @janton! Well earned and deserved. I like seeing the CL numbers over 100,000. It generally means something is being said. :)

I just do what I do, sir. We all need to be ourselves, and rambling and long winded is who I am!

You, however, are as responsible for what I did this week as anyone since I felt like I was writing "How to" manuals for different aspects of Steemit for you last week. :)

oh wow you're right! I'll take credit for your first place showing then! lol. you may consider your writing to be "rambling" but that's what amazes me about it is that it's NOT rambling it's great stuff and makes sense.
and you can cover so many aspects of a topic and that's just... i don't know what..I am not being patronizing but man that's brilliant.

Plus it helps when you can talk to anyone on almost any level about things that go right over my head! I'm good with simple topics lol.

thank you so much for all your help and all those help manuals that you wrote, I know you have saved me a huge amount of time trying to research and learn some of these things.

Absolutely no worries. I know it's benefited me having someone who could answer questions for me, and even so, I've spent a lot of time reading and researching anyway. It helps to see as many sides to things as you can. The only thing that was somewhat difficult were the witness suggestions just because it's more of a personal taste kind of thing and we all have our own personal standards. I'm really not trying to impose mine on anyone, so anyway, it was actually cool to be able to do that, and I'm more than willing to continue to help where I can.

very good sir. I like reading about the opposing views on bots because those who are using them are so freaked out and offended that anyone would suggest that they stop making money with them and the other side think it's completely unfair so there starts the heated war of words.
entertaining but not helpful at all.

Well I have to admit my defeat. I did went full force this week but was defeated fair and square!
Again an incredible result of @glenalbrethsen, @lynncoyle1 and @janton!
Congrats with the podium places! Saturday did cost me a top 3 but the wife did find shaving the hedge more important!
If am not mistaken we now have 3 players with 2 lucky number 25 spots. @bengy, @simplymike and @crypto-econom1st
Curious whom of you can score the hattrick first! Who will do a Cristiano Ronaldo!
Here is your price Bengu!

Don’t expext me near the top 50 in the next four weeks, I will be just too busy with my offline work!
This is the 9th week I am sponsoring the lucky number 25! I did promise Asher to sponsor it at least 10 weeks, but If there are no volunteers to take it over I will continue to sponsoit for a while! Even when I am on a holiday!
@abh12345 thanks again for bringing engagement to the blockchain!
@curie thanks for supporting Asher in this quest!
To all participants: if you still have a witness spot available! Do know that Asher also have a witness program running together with @paulag!
So consider to give a witness vote @steemcommunity!

Cheers,
Peter

Thanks again! As far as I know, it was the first time for me, so a bit of a longer haul than the other two.

Don't talk about hedges, ours looks particularly bushy...

Indeed, I did purchase you 2 shares 2 months ago, but I don't remember any more for what. But probably it was well deserved!
Enjoy the power!
Cheers,
Peter

I can't remember, but I think it was for something else, but thanks again!

Could it have been the security contest of @simplymike?

Quite possible, I have a feeling we've had this conversation!

Speaking of hedges needing a trim, have you seen @lynncoyle1's.... post today? 😁

hahaha I love this little guy!!!

hahaha you are on a roll with this one Asher :)

You've been sharpening your acceptance speech, I see, @fullcoverbetting!

I feel your pain about the hedge trimming. My wife has a knack for handing out those kinds of tasks at the least opportune times. Okay, most times are least opportune, but you get my drift.

You did get third prize, though, which counts as a Top 3 finish, not four, and as it is, there wasn't a whole lot of difference between the three of you, so well done.

And good on you for continuing to sponsor the Lucky Number 25. It's amazing how that accumulates over time and starts to repeat. Who will get the hat trick indeed!

Congratulations Peter! It looks like Glen has a partner in crime now with janton, so I'm really happy with 3rd place haha

Can imagine! I gave it all this week, but it just wasn't enough. But the three above me are all incredible engagers, so very proud on my fourth place!

Wait. I thought janton was your partner in crime. It sounds like the two of you hung out way more than he and I did. We did that mostly here. But from what I've been reading, the two of you bumped into each other all over the place. :)

Maybe he was trying to work us both, which isn't a bad plan. 🤔

haha @glenalbrethsen , keep your friends close... 😅

Cheers Peter, a fine job and a grand comment too 😁

Lucky number 25 adds a nice extra bonus to the Leagues and this week, judging by the prizes, 25 was the perfect number to use, cheers!

Thanks Asher.
Glad to I was able to give an extra dimension to the league! Would be there in the top next week because I will be forced to do some self voting! But still you never know :)
Cheers,
Peter

Hi Asher, learned about this contest from @c-squared folks. I'm fairly certain I won't do well in the leagues but sign me up.

Btw, awesome initiative. More power!

Thank you!

I've added you to the list :)

Not my best week. 😀

Congrats to all winners. L2 shows me familiar names up high: the legendary @glennalbrethsen, @lynncoyle1, @gillianpearce. Congrats.

And the new engager, my friend @cicisaja, congrats for zero upvote prize.

Aahh thank you @aneukpineung78, you will never know how hard it was to control my finger from making the blue arrow on my post. I love blue and I must leave my blog to avoid that situation.

So nice to be included among the legendary @aneukpineung78. Thank you!

Hope you have a better week this week, although it looks like you're doing a good job to me! 😁

Remember the list is much bigger in total, so it's a good week whenever your name is there :D

Hey, @aneukpineung78! I think we're all allowed down weeks. I've been having my share lately. I like it much better when I'm at least into the lower 30,000s for the final score. In the end, we do what we can do, and in the meantime, we try to reach out to as many others as we can.

I'm not sure about all this legend talk. Both Lynn and Gillian have been at it longer, and none of us have been doing it for more than five months or so. Plus, we're only a small portion of all of the folks here on Steemit, so who knows who else is out there waiting to swoop in and take things to the next level.

I hope all is well in your neck of the woods and that this week will be better than your last.

Congratulations to Glen for regaining his title! Its fitting to see him back at the top and ruling over this land with such a commanding lead! And its also nice to see a new challenger in @janton emerge! And of course the queen @lynncoyle1 isn't far behind, so it great to see the action this league captures so we can see where we stand.

For the first time ever I didn't even make it in the top 30... I will improve my performance (hopefully) this week as I don't like slipping that far. That's the beautiful thing about your contest...because its real stats, there is no lying to yourself where you stand. If you slack off, then it shows. ;)

I am happy to see all the communication as always, and the force of your contest will pull me back from my 2 week lull! So thanks for that Asher! :)

Awesome job as always!

Hey, @davemccoy! I was going to give you a hard time for your placement this week, but then I saw your brother was in town, so I'm cutting you some slack, okay? Next time, though, I might not be so lenient. :)

Nah. Family first, always.

I may have finished at the top of the scoreboard this week, but prize and ruling the land (if he wants it) belongs to @janton. I'm just a participant, because I like hanging out with all of you guys once a week (okay for most of the week).

Hey @glenalbrethsen ... That is mighty kind of you to cut me some slack, but truth be told I can't use any excuses. I could've spent more time and made more comments, so I failed to do so and deserve to be put in the corner and wear the dunce cap this week :P.... Sadly I am having trouble getting back into the swing of things, but I have upped my posts for the week so that might help!

I am going to be using this fast reply... It truly is an awesome tool because it saves the loading time and gets to the point. I know you don't really need any edge, but if you ever get behind it is a good way to catch up!

I am happy to see you, it seems like it has been a month.... I hope you are doing well... (and finally you are still the King even if you turn down your payment) :)

Okay, well, just know you put yourself in the corner.

I've been out of it myself this week. No visitors, not the price of STEEM, not a lack of desire or posts to read (though I probably would have ran out by now were I reading them), just a general blasé. I'm getting into a rut, I think, and I don't like the rut, so I need to do something about it, even if the rut has quite a few benefits to it, such as higher production, which generally translates into more earnings.

It's not like I have anything else I need to be doing or I would rather be doing per se, so anyway. I'm sort of rebelling against myself. Or something. I'd analyze further but I think it's probably a waste of time. :)

I know... I am regretting it a bit tonight when I realize I just have tonight and tomorrow and I only really had one good day of replies. Maybe with the steem drop everyone else is a little dejected and if so then I might be able to slide in with a weak showing anyways :P ...

As for you, I don't want you to get dejected, we are all in trouble if we can't keep you feeling this is a place to be. I know I myself have actually still been very active, but I have been focused on the steemmonsters and making a good market on it... I have actually put a lot more into them than I planned, but frankly I'm very impressed with the enthusiasm! I see many many people that are enthused about it, and many more that might be if it lives up to its potential.

Regarding the whole rest of steemit, I am here for the long haul because I like the people I communicate with. I can't stand management or the owners. I think they may have squandered a great thing, and I definitely think they are tone deaf. But it is their company and their money that is at risk, so they can mess it up if they like.

So because of I think they may have screwed it up (by letting all the people come and go due to not really caring).... I have thought long and hard about it and realize I'm here for the people I've met anyways. If it just stays a niche with a few thousand active people then so be it... I will do what I can to help it (and mainly help my friends).

As far as you, I hope you stay engaged or at least hang around. You add a lot and set the standard that drives many people. But I get it, you also want to have purpose... I'm hoping these SMTs come out and the whole thing changes (and they were right and I was wrong about the plan).

Well that is enough for this comment, but good to see you and don't give me too much grief if I have a weak showing this week again! ;)

Well, we'll be weak bros together then, because I know where mine is as of right now and it's the worst it's been since I started. :)

Dejected isn't quite the word. Feeling the inevitability of it all, despite my posts, maybe? It's not like I'm trying to convince myself, and ultimately, I don't know who I'm really helping, and whether I even should, for that matter, but it's mostly just wondering where this is all really going and who's going to cave to the authorities or to the money next.

It's great to have a decentralized platform, but you also need the key players to have some backbone, and I don't know if they have it or can really afford to have it, with families. They can be anonymous all they want with their names, but there's going to be enough information on the blockchain if they've published anything for someone who wants to track them down.

Yeah, I don't know if Steemit Inc is really the answer. I keep being told they're not STEEM, so that means another front end coming in to save the day, or something like that. The fact is, though, if they start delivering with everything they're working on above the hood rather than just under the hood, things could be much better. They just got to do it, and after the TOS update went awry (and you would think that would be rather easy, relatively speaking), it just doesn't instill the confidence.

re: steemmonsters

I'm getting too old. I understand the enthusiasm, and I think it will be fun for those who want to participate. I'm just not into it, like I'm not into a lot of things. I need to get interested in something, though. I'm starting to see that.

I'm trying to hang around. I like routine, but I don't like the rut, if that makes sense. When I did layouts for my newspapers, it was the same thing every week, but it was challenging somewhat because I had to make everything fit with the space I had to fill. So, even though it was basically rearranging images and text every week, it was different.

Here, there's some variety, but I find myself having the same conversations over and over again with only slight variations, and not feeling like much of anything is being accomplished. There's a lot of singing to the choir that takes place. I keep thinking I need to make a trip to Austin and get information that might help me somehow. You want to go with me? :)

That might not be the best of ideas, though. I don't need to burst the bubble completely, do I?

lol... it would burst my bubble, because I am thinking that this place has potential despite the current management/ownership. My thinking for awhile now has been that we need a "reset" that will basically user in new leaders and investors... My hope is the the 2nd group of leaders learn from the first. Retention should be job #1 in almost all businesses... Especially one that wants its users to come visit every day.

I would be happy to go to Austin with you, but my concern is they wouldn't even really talk to us if we got there... You know they have to have seen a message or two from people like us. And if they don't respond to any of those, not sure they even "get it". But if you go, I will come down and go with you so just let me know ;)

The one thing that keeps me excited in the back of my mind is this is like a company. There have been many companies over my years that have been poorly managed and I have seen many of them get their problems solved when the old guys leave and new guys come in. Now granted, in most of those cases the stocks got hammered and the investors fled. But the ones that stuck around and rode it out, bought more when things changed, did really well by sticking with it.

I think this might be that kind of situation. Unless there is something that comes along better (which I haven't seen yet), then there is hope. Hope that: 1) they either fix their issues and capture their potential or 2) they get the hell out of the way by getting smoked in a reset.

Either way is fine with me personally. I would feel bad for @abh12345 and @danielsaori and especially @fulltimegeek if it went that way, but my guess is those guys would recover and be even bigger forces if that happened.

So I would encourage you to have "hope", but setting the proper expectations for current management is probably in order! ;)

ps.. as far as steem monsters... I am old too... But the way I look at it is it is like a modern version of chess... The way it is structured when you get over all the lingo is very similar and since it is basically a drafting the right team for the tournament game, the challenge will be in the strategy of picking the right components... I will say this, you will see some incredible excitement for it in many aspects... There are people of all persuasions and ages doing many things in anticipation of it being awesome!

It's ok to cool off a bit, especially from making the 10 for months on end. I am glad though to hear that the league will motivate you back into action though :D Cheers!

@abh12345 it definitely motivates me... I even waited intentionally today, just so I would make sure your stats would pull my activity... I don't know the cutoff and didn't want anything to fall into the abyss... I'm like the penny picker-upheheer, I want every comment this week to count ;) ... hehehe

You are good to go about half an hour before the post come out! 😁

@abh12345 good to know... I thought that would've probably had to have been like that, but I didn't know so I was conservative... I just want to get back to the top 30 again this week... small steps :P

I fully expect you to be top 30 again this week - I'm hoping for the same too actually :D

I'm keeping my fingers crossed... But really only had one good day of few distractions... And I think I need to be more prompt to encourage the engagement! We'll see, I hope so because I really don't like being so far down.

I've noticed that sometimes a sharper response yields more engagement, but with time and time zones that's not always possible of course.

I'm going to predict 15th place for me this week!

Thanks Dave! Now I have Glen and janton fighting for the top :)

Yep, not getting around the numbers is there? Quick slackin' and get back up on this list ! haha

lol... yes I know, I've been a full on slacker! Those steem monsters are really taking my time trying to figure out what is going on... I guess I better spend less time on them and get to my fast reply feature and get to work ;)

Good to see you up there as usual Lynn!

A big Thank You from me . What you do for this platform and the people in it can not be measured only emulated . Again Thank you for what you did and doing

Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment @wolfhart! That is an amazingly awesome comment and I'm humbled to receive it!

Congratulations to everyone, @glenalbrethsen - What the heck can I say, simply amazing, for the first time in a couple of weeks, no tight neck and neck finish, you sir are simply amazing.

@janton, @lynncoyle1, and @fullcoverbetting, absolutely wonderful levels of engagement on your parts, I feel honored to be in the top ten well with everyone in the top ten.

I am happy to say that my numbers all increased over last week with the exception of my voting ability. Fewer accounts voted on, and less account diversity. I am hoping that this is due to the steem price and my desire not to give a dust level vote to people so I have had to up my percentage a little bit. It was nice to see my growing comment depth level finally growing again.

Thank you everyone, especially Asher for maintaining this list for us so we can honestly track our progress. I am very happy to see that I am not very far off from my averages. For averaging the total numbers over the last 12 weeks, my average level has improved over last months summary slightly. My comment depth has improved, comment length, and over all score, bad thing however is the number of comments, votes and unique votes have declined, some of this could be price related and life, (it is summer) related.

That's nice of you to say, @bashadow. I'm just hanging out, trying to have fun and do some encouraging along the way. Congratulations to you and your placing. It's amazing to me how so many of you are keeping your commenting numbers up when I've been scrambling around to do it.

The drop in STEEM is definitely in play here. And, I think about a third of the people I follow have been publishing less than normal, so that's not helping. While there doesn't appear to be too many bulls in sight, hopefully they'll start chasing off the bears soon.

Upvoting is just going to take a hit. I managed to do a little bit more this week through some rationing, but I don't like it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but the amounts I can leave have been cut in half, so there's not really much I, you, or most of us, including the higher SP can do about it, other than to try to keep going and wait for the bull run.

Today I noticed a very slight uptick in my account value, so it seems hings are getting a bit better, first time in a week it has gone up, even if it was only by a few dollars (13), it is still better than going down even as rewards come in. So tomorrow, Hopefully still a tad bit higher. It's he slow times like this that people should be posting, more chance of being seen, because of fewer post.

At least it is not like last year in may, I looked at a couple of post and comments from then, there were big name people with 9 votes and only $0.02 in reward, It was rather sobering to see those small numbers. At least we have @dustsweeper to help us out, what a fricken God send that was from Dave and Daniel.

Things have to go up at some point, right? We've been in the downturn for a little longer than the other times since I've been here. So, hopefully, we're working through all of that, whatever that is.

It's true that things can always been worse. Having nine votes for $0.02 is almost as bad as having no votes, because you know people are trying to help but they just can't, so you feel bad for them and the post. :)

We do need to hang around and do as much as we can. Hopefully, things will work out. Not much we can do about it either way, so we might as well do what we can with what we have and see what happens.

Thank you @bashadow, and thank you so much for the sbd to go towards our Pay it forward contest too! I really appreciated that:) Congratulations to you as well here; it's great to see you tracking your success :)

I must be the brokest bee in the hive. But I tried, and you offered, so the slow build starts again. Monday is going to be interesting to see what happens, and what tcpolymath has ins tore for me and the others.

@thedarkhorse just saw my message from you and is very thankful! Yours will be used for the random pick winners and danielsaori's will go to the 4 judge's picks. Now everyone gets SBI and @dustsweeper thanks to you :)

As a spectator, I'm so curious to see what Monday brings too !!

Its a great contest he runs, i just kept running out of time to participate. going to be exciting times for me I expect. Did you see @ned's post about the grateful dead? I just had to spam the IFC song to him.LoL He is still going through soul searching I think. he must be having a pretty hard time lately.

I hear you about running out of time. We can only spread ourselves so thin and eventually have to pick a couple things to focus on and that's that.

I missed his post, but I love that you sent him the song! I would think it's a tough time for sure for him at the moment!

Spinning plenty of plates right now I guess 😁

Fewer accounts voted on, and less account diversity. I am hoping that this is due to the steem price and my desire not to give a dust level vote to people so I have had to up my percentage a little bit.

Don't worry, I think you are doing the right thing :)

The points for votes is very small, as you can see from @janton's total - gives everyone a chance.

Well done!

Congratulations to the winners as always! @glenalbrethsen is truly in a league of his own-- wow! It's crowded at the top!

I'm glad so many people are still "around;" I've had some doubts as of late; seems a lot of people are posting and curating less due to the sinking prices of Steem/SBD, but evidently not here... and yay for that!

No idea whether it will have an effect or not (I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks); someone kindly (and out of the blue) gifted me with a 400+ SP delegation... for I-have-no-idea-how-long. Fun stuff... and proof that there is still good "pay it forward" energy on Steemit!

Nice work on the delegation!

Next week I think i'll be adding to what I have on loan too :)

Yo, @curatorcat! Nice to see you.

Thanks for the kind words, but as I've been telling some others, I'm just trying to have a good time, hang out with you all, and weather the bear run we're in the middle of. The only way I know to do that is to keep engaging with whoever there is around.

I think the Top 20% are pretty much keeping STEEM going the last few weeks, in addition to some others who haven't made it to the leagues yet. We just need to keep it up for as long as we can.

Congratulations on your delegation gift by the way. Enjoy it for however long it lasts. I know you will find ways to put it to good use. :)
