DISH WASHER PILE AND FEELINGS

in #writting6 years ago (edited)

A heap of feelings to be clean and organized.

If our life is already running during the year, it is at the end of it that things get even crazier. It is a very complicated period, because everyone wants everything for yesterday, as if the world would end until the 31st. This happens in all aspects: relationships, at work, in appointments and so on. In this tense period, due to the volume and intensity of the tasks, I left a dish for almost a week in the sink. Nothing that anyone has not already done, but it made me reflect.

The dishes are like our feelings. It may be because of the ultra-busy life we live in, it may be because we're just avoiding conflict, it may be for the reason (or excuse) that you want to fit in better here. The fact is that more and more we are leaving things for later. Not that this is necessarily bad. A little bit of laziness, from time to time, can also do well, will! Even so, it takes courage.

Elizabeth Gilbert once said that courage is to do something that causes us fear. We do not have to start being braver jumping bungee jump. We need to start getting to know each other better. Yeah, maybe this is even harder than a radical adventure. Easy will never be, but you have to take the first step.

Just like the dishes we neglected, putting one or two more pieces a day, our feelings and opinions are also piling up. Oh, just one more plate today. Ah, just one more tear tomorrow. When you even look to, which was just a few flatware, have turned into a mountain of dirty things.

I have found that when we actually decide to face all this rubble, it is not always what we imagined. My physical dishes looked gigantic at the end of the week when I looked from a distance. However, when I rolled up the sleeves, having it wrapped in one hand, and the detergent in the other, I knew I would wipe it out right there. A while after starting, I realized that she was much smaller than I imagined. 20 minutes were enough to make the sink ring.

The simple fork of today is tomorrow's cutlery set. Following this logic, it is also pertinent to quote that when you simply throw things in the sink, they become disorganized and thus always appear to be much larger than they actually represent. Playing from side to side does not solve, only accumulates.

We are responsible for this. It's up to us to sort this out. I also know that sometimes we can not handle this alone because our pile of crockery has turned out to be much bigger than ourselves. It is during these hours that we will need to ask or seek for some help. A cleaning lady sometimes is all we need. It is they who will help us to keep everything clean and in place. Not being able to do it on its own is not shameful or worthwhile. Each one is different. Some do, some do not. Only we know the pain and the delight of being who we are.

By 2018, let's avoid crowding our feelings. Making time for ourselves is enough to keep everything up to date. And if we realize that we are no longer taking care of it, we will show to the life who it is that it sends in doing that faxinão for nobody to make defect. What if, instead of killing yourself by cleaning that pot of burnt rice, throw it away and buy another? Sometimes it will not be worth it at all, so why not start over with a new one?

The pile of dishes is mine, so I make it what I want and everything I can for it not to be created.
