Kinko - The Lizard Warrior #Part1

in #writing6 years ago (edited)

The spaceship skidded across the galaxy fast. Kinko glanced behind him to check if the aliens were catching up. Satisfied, he slowed down his ship to save the much-needed fuel.

He needed to think and think fast. Aliens -as he had earlier found out- had no regards for life expect their own. They massacred his whole tribe as he watched helplessly from a disguised ship.

His parents knew they couldn't do much about the raiding aliens so they forced him in their ship and dangled it right above them with their golden staffs. It was against the order -even for the king and queen- but there were no breathing tribunal chiefs by the looks of things.

Homes turned into smoke then ash within the three-hour long chaos. The war-shy crowd was wiped first and fast. Children wails were silenced by skilled elves looking like warriors.

Kinko shrieked but nothing. The ship was sound proof.

One by one, the bodies of his tribesmen fell and piled at the feet of the aliens. Warriors he fought alongside with dying with honor beside their own. He felt like a coward with a drone's view and frantically, started to look for a way out.

Unintentionally, he hit a key and a broadcast came to life on the monitor. It was taken in the tribunal courts some weeks earlier according to the dates.

His parents sat surrounded by the whole order. Every tribunal chief was present.

'Son, if you are watching this then it means our worst fears have been confirmed and we are either dying right beneath you or we are already dead.'

'First of all. Don't beat yourself up about this. It was unanimously decided'.

The chiefs nodded in a silent agreement.

'You have been chosen because of your skills on the battlefields; Your ways with machines and the probability of reviving our tribe'.

'We are sorry to have decided your fate in your absence'.

'We can only hope and advise you to use your current rage to do something constructive'.

'We believe in you as a warrior and we love you as our son'.

The even more distressed lizard warrior riveted at the grey monitor. How was he to come up with a way to get back at the destruction he saw. The pure hatred from one species to another. The death. He collapsed.

It was hours later when he woke up. With the powers of his parents' staffs' already dwindling his ship now could shake their grip and land.

Blood spatters coalesced to a web of streams beneath the bodies that were coated with ash residues.

The stench drove him back to his ship in tears as he started his journey to the outer space. His parents' crowns rattled against their golden staffs in the back seat of his new home and only possession.

That was months ago.

He managed to get into their high-end city after trading his mother's staff for tokens and access. The only way in was to be registered as a war slave or the 'illegals'. They were from all over the galaxy; mostly from the aliens' conquered territories or just strays looking for a home or to hide from something out there.

TO BE CONTINUED.

Wow that was really well written and painted a great picture. I am going to have to read that a few times to figure out why I like it so much. I think one of the reasons is you managed to being life to the character and make him feel rooted. You also gave the story urgency in a short amount of time.

Thank you so much for entering!

Thank you so much for the inspiration again. It took my pen places it has never been and fast. I have never enjoyed a write the way I enjoyed this one! Also thank you for your read and thoughts, it means a lot :)

It must be nice to see how your work inspires others, keep doing great!

I've always loved creative people that make fiction sound so beautiful and logical to me. This is the stuff Marvel and DC are made of! Keep it up, hope to see you at the top.
