Announcing the Members of the Jury

in #writing7 years ago (edited)

Hello folks and Shipwreck Writing Challengers,

This time I’ll announce the members of the jury that will be rating your submissions!

You will also notice an empty table with the names of all the participants.

We already have:

DEAR CHALLENGERS

I have the honor to announce that the members of the jury who will estimate your stories after each round are @bex-dk, @aksounder and @johnkingwriter.

@bex-dk

Her BA in English and tech editing experience put weight into her edits for her fellow workshoppers in the Writers' Block Fiction-Workshop. All this forced her out of her hermitage and ruined her book-a-day reading average.

@aksounder

If he's not exploring the outdoors, studying astronomy or physics for the fun of it, spending time with his family or any other number of things, you'll find him at the Writer's Block. Although his joy is in writing fiction, being a photographer and amateur beer sommelier often steals his writing focus.

@johnkingwriter

He is a prolific writer of spurious science fiction and fantasy who will cobble just about anything together provided there is cheese handy.

200 Whaleshares as a prize for the contest are provided by @krazykrista - the kindest moderator at the Whaleshares Community.

We also have 6 SBD that will be spread between the 3 participants with the highest total score at the end of Round 3.

And once again, I’m going to share the rules once again:

RULES:

The contest consists of 3 rounds. Each round you'll be given 3 options to choose from. Each option will describe a shipwreck and some curious facts related TO the tragic event.

Every one of the participants should choose only one option and write a story related TO the shipwreck. These are 3 different opportunities for you to exercise your creative writing skills.

The deadline for each round is 7 days.

The minimum length for your stories is 700 words and the maximum length is 1500 words.
Try to include at least one image as this will also help you get more points.

The jury reads and rates your stories from 1 to 10.

The results for each round will be announced once the jury is ready.

The same rules for the submissions apply for Round 2 and Round 3.

Let me know if you have any questions before I launch the contest on Friday, Jan 19.

Yours,
@steemfluencer

Do you still have a spot open? If so, I’ll take it!

You're so nice for commenting on this post. For that, I gave you a vote!

Yes sir! Welcome in board. We are now full pack. Launch is on Friday :)

Wow, some exciting names on that entrants list. I'll be looking forward to reading all these tales!

We have 2 participants who have already submitted their entries.

Here are the URLs for your convenience. I should however collect them and pin them in a table so you have access on TWB all the time.

Yes, maintaining a document and dropping a link to that in our discord chat for this contest would be easiest.

We'll have it later today.

Should be fun! I know nothing of maritime activities! The closest I've ever been to a ship is when it was in a bottle.

As a neutral organizer of the contest it makes me feel even more excited! You were killing it on the Creative Writing Challenges. This time could be different depending on what other folks are going to come up with.

Hmm, while I don't know much about ships or wrecking them, there are a lot of possibilities running through my mind. And thank you for the week turnaround time!

It doesn't matter so much! Once I announce Round 1 you'll see that the opportunities to write about your own fields of expertise are limitless.

I see serious writers have entered this. But I am undaunted, as I have practically zero experience on the water and so would be guaranteed to wreck a ship if ever I had the chance.

Oh, you shouldn't worry about that at all. The shipwreck event itself shouldn't be the center of your story at all. I might clarify this before we start.

As a follower of @followforupvotes this post has been randomly selected and upvoted! Enjoy your upvote and have a great day!
