The Shipwreck Writing Challenge is Looking for Members of The Writer's Block to Join the Jury
Dear members of @thewritersblock!
In a nutshell you'll be reading submissions and rate them from 1 to 10. Stories that doesn't pass the requirements should get between 0 and 3 points. More details when the team is formed.
I'll need about 3 to 5 people and the whole thing shouldn't take too much. I estimate about 3 hours for a team of 4 people over the next month. If you are interested just click the APPLY HERE button below.

Please don't exclude nonnative speakers. We have some nonnative speakers on our team who would be impressive members of any writing jury.
Agreed. Here's a small excerpt from @tinypaleokitchen who is an ESL writer at The Writers' Block:
He squealed in protest as her gaze reached his chest. Wind flew past her face as he shot past her and bucked. A curl had escaped her braid and it fell over her left eye, the setting sun burnishing it to a bright copper. It tickled her nose but she couldn’t brush it away--couldn’t risk spooking him again.Tiny's not a native speaker, but she can write and edit like nobody's business.

I'd like to participate in the contest, but it seems like a mysterious commitment, so I'll gladly throw my hat into the next best (possibly better, actually) alternative.

Pleasant surprise to see you here mountain! Thanks for the recommendation. You know, I've seen some of the amazing world building you're capable of and with the quality of your non-fic science posts (curie consistently agrees) I'm starting to wonder when you're going to come on over to The Writer's Block and start producing fiction. Are you entering this contest? If the answer's yes, I may jump up and down...
Hah, I'm actually working on a fiction project, but not on steemit. Keeping it under wraps for now, but I'll have some details to release about it soon enough!
Outstanding! If you ever want to pass it through an editing workshop, please come visit the Block; we're not dedicated to just Steemit content! And if you do, I'll definitely be the first one to jump into that doc.
Don't underestimate the value of peer review and the editing process. You might be impressed at how much you'd improve a piece of writing with some constructive eyes giving it a read. We also happen to have some very good editors.

Should be sweet! I expect the judging panel to be amazing.
That's the idea, however I don't have any expectations yet. I'll give the guys about 24 hours before I take a look at the applicant's table.
