WHAT ARE YOU ATTRACTED TO; POST REWARD, THE AUTHOR OR THE TOPIC?

One of the gravest mistake when mining with your brain is to search for trending posts and post with huge pending payouts, something most of us had done one time or the other before getting proper orientations on how things work. For as many yet to get educated with this proof of Brain Rewarding system, here is a cue for you all.
Those huge payout curation rewards already belongs to users with much more vest who had upvoted an article at one time or the other before you or even after you do i.e if you are still extremely low in invested Tokens, you get nothing from the crumbs of the cake after sometime hence the Huge Rewards should not be the attractive force to any blog. The trending page simply put is for established authors/or projects posts which had gotten due and large support from Whales, Orcas, Dolphins etc. therefore going to this page to upvote for curative rewards purposes is a White Elephant projects for those with tiny vests.
For all Newbies and Red fishes who cares to read this to the end, please take note; there is no law restricting upvoting posts from the trending page or post with big pending payout. But if you are attracted there with the hope of making nice curation rewards with a small vest, i am here to quench your hope, so best advice is to go and read then drop nice comments to any attractive topic of your choice.
ONLY A FEW AUTHORS READ NEWBIES ARTICLES
Interestingly, only a few of this great authors takes their time to check newer/new author's articles, the reason simply put is because with a whole lot of time they have spent on the platform, most of them already created bonds with some other authors and friends whom they had been together for a while rather than surfing for a fresh hand. It is paramount to take note that if you are upvoting such author's articles from the trending page with the hope of getting noticed, then you have a tiny or zero chance to get their attention because users with higher voting powers pops up on the post vote list before you and you might end up not be in the first 20 voters!
If you are lucky enough to see such posts in it's earliest moments, then you stand a chance of getting a piece of the pie by upvoting early at a certain time suitable for curation purposes. It doesn't regularly work for all users, your chances depends on who and what BOTs upvotes such articles later on.
A CUE FOR CURATION REWARD AFFECTIONADOS
If your aim is to earn more from curation rewards "NEW" page is your destination and it takes a little bit of efforts to search and read outstanding articles from new authors and then perceive the ones that earns more supports in upvotes from their hardwork.
Now the timing is the hardest part; ideally the 20-30 minutes waiting period works provided the post is yet to get maximum visibility. So after 10, 20, 30 or 40 and beyond works fine that is if you have monitored the regular voters on a particular author's blog posts. This is trick-ish and so it takes several times of studying and experimenting.

For users who care less about most of the things i have ranted about but just love to read, enjoy and support good content creators, you need not worry about upvote timing for a post on Trending Page or New Page nor care about pending post payouts. Curation reward is part of the system, so for the individuals who care so much about the piece they get from curation, trending page might not be the best place for you to cast your fishing nets but be advised to read and digest the Steemit White and Blue papers!

Honestly,i was a victim of chasing after trending post for curation rewards not until i realised that after the payout, what i get most time is 0.001. It amaze me when i get high curation reward on posts with less visibilities and pay out.
As you said,i think the best way to get curation reward is through those newbies though the reward shouldn't be the priority because there are some authors that am deeply addicted to just find,read and appreciate their posts. You are one of those authors.

Even though i use to consider my blogs as too randomly weird, but that had kept me going for almost 10months.
helpful suggestions. i think newbies should do max comments on other author's post to get rewards.and also people known him by doing this.

Such a lovely advise, for reading the newbies posts, I do that a lot and some of them I have tried to link them up to a curator who may have not seen their works. Some of them write great content but aren't that visible. I hope they get to have that awesome reward for putting in so much hardwork. Doing a lovely job capt.

I feel that subconsciously I do relate high payout to the quality of the post, which is not always representative. I'd like to say I prefer the quality post on topics that interest me.
Thats just perfect mate, there was a time i use to do that...but then it was just BOTS and Votes paid for...
The topic attracts me and I don't really give a f about the time it was posted. See article heading... interesting... click.... read article... awesome... next.... upvote. That's how I roll.
