In total, this Vocab-ability post features 29 entries that begins with the letter “C."

Interesting work, I gave it a push

Glad you like it. And thanks for the push.

I didn't know incense (I always thought it was that thing that makes nice smell in the temples), accretion, crypto-fascist (really?!?!?!) and cursory.
Thank you so much, duuuuuude. Currently in Kampot enjoying the river and the wind.
Cheers!

That aromatic material is IN-cense, a noun, with the emphasis on the First syllable. This one here is in-CENSE, a verb, with the emphasis on the second syllable.

And we rarely use it as a basic verb. We more often use the past participle, as an adjective. As in, "After she burned his books, stole his money, and left with Bob's best friend, Bob was INCENSED!!!

Currently in southern Thailand, enjoying the waves and the sea breeze. And a few beers ...

As for "crypto-fascist," yes, that's a not uncommon term. My friend used to tell me that he considered the US magazine TIME a crypto-fascist rag.

He may have been correct / accurate.

thank you for sharing this.
followed you hope i can learn more from you

This is an excellent idea. Steem needs educational content. Thanks you.

Это превосходная идея. Steem нуждается в образовательном контенте. Спасибо Вам.

I agree. When I discovered Steemit, I realized it would be a great way to distribute this type of material, and have it permanently stored on the blockchain.

I think this is a great opportunity, and I am thrilled to be a part of it. I'm going to continue this series for another 300-plus posts. After that, I'll probably devise some other type of English language educational materials.

Thanks!

Are you an English teacher because you are definitely good at it. Your post introduced new vocabulary to me today like connoisseur, some of those words are not just English, Latin and greek, there are also French words like this connoisseur

Yes, I was an English teacher for years, mostly in Japan. I've also worked as an editor and writer.

I collected this Vocab-ability material when I was teaching, and eventually published it. (It made me NO money.) But now I can put a revised and updated version on Steemit, for everybody and for posterity. And hopefully I can earn a bit for my efforts.

Re your statement that some of the words are French, that's because they came into the English language THROUGH French. When the French conquered Britain in 1066, the French language became the major language of the rulers (and the ruling elite). As a result, many words of Latin origin passed from French into English.

Thanks for reading thru my post so thoroughly. I truly hope all my posts help you learn a little more, and maybe even polish up your English vocab-ability. ☺

I believe you are going to make more than what you didn't made when your published it before. And yes hopefully I will English vocabulary 😂

Yes, I've already earned more on Steemit than the $0.00 that I profited from the hardcopy of Vocab-ability.

Good luck with learning it all!!!

Wow. This is such a load of knowledge. This is why I always love following your blog. There is also new things to learn everyday. Keep it up.

Glad you like it and glad you are following it. I truly hope that it helps you increase your vocabulary.

And don't worry, I have a few hundred more posts coming up! Enjoy.

I can't wait.

Wow I never know about this and how the roots of words have certain meaning traced back to Greek and Latin cultures. Amazing Content and very Educational! Thank you!

Its educative, thank you
