Cont. from Page Two#2 – Find a nearby branch, wave it like a weapon while crying out “For Freedom!” thus showing this realm who’s the boss 

The stand off

You see a nearby branch, grab it and realise it’s more of a twig.   

Not deterred by your meager weapon you defy the flying creature, waving your twig into the air and screaming in the general direction of the flying creature. You feel a drop of sweat on your brow, but nervously hold your ground.   

The creature momentarily ceases it’s decent, beating its mighty wings to suspend in mid-air. 

With a few strong beats of its wings the creature moves into a glide and swoops down to land into a small trot, not far from your position. Now much closer, you are immediately taken back by its sheer size.   

The massive creature stands before you it has a body much like that of a lion, the wings of a bird and the head of... something you have not really seen before.   

The creature opens its giant mouth, filled with sharp pointed teeth and begins to speak.  

“Hello there young hero” says the creature in a deep voice, shaking and folding its mighty wings neatly by its side.  

You are stunned at first that the creature can speak, but with courage you decide to befriend the creature. After a few moments conversing with the creature you become much more comfortable that it means you no harm. 

You ask your new friend if it knows about the Sorceress or how you might complete your quest, but the creature knows little about the life of ground dwellers. 

You learn the creatures name is Sandrial and that he was just passing by on his way back to his nest after a hunt. 

The creature Sandrial explains that most ground dwellers think his species weak, but in-fact his flock possess mighty magical powers, used mostly for defense. 

“It is rare I see such bravery in someone so young, I normally just fly over this part of the city and there is.... nothing of interest, well at least since the time of the great war” says Sandrial, flicking his tail and stretching his wings.
