Unlock the Power of Chrome: Day 7
Technicalities
If you are just joining me, every other day I am covering a new Google Chrome Extension you can install in your browser.
Extensions allow you to "power up" Chrome giving it more function and usability than it has after a fresh install.
I am going to leave links at the bottom of the post to the extensions I have covered in the past if you want to check them out.
Getting To It
The extension I am going to highlight today is called Screencastify. You can view it on the Chrome Webstore here.
They also have an app webpage you can visit here.
Screencastify is a tool that allows you to capture video of what is happening on your screen. It is very fast and after you have captured what you are doing, you can then upload it to your Google Drive for sharing later, or right to Youtube.
The extension has many great functions including:
Capture your whole screen
Capture a specific application
Capture a specific Chrome tab
Capture just your webcam
Set focus on your mouse
No software to download
It is usable offline, then you can upload when you have a connection
You can embed your webcam and narrate with your microphone
Annotation
If you need to create a tutorial for friends/family/work, this might be just the tool for you. I am sure as you play around with it, you will find other great uses as well.

That's a good one =) ... I personally prefer Loom, which you an maybe feature in a different post. It saves the video online, and also has the option of doing a dual video (your webcam with your screen).
