Art Word of the Day: Material safety data sheet
Term: Material safety data sheet
Definition: A Material Safety Data Sheet
(MSDS) contains basic information intended to help you work safely with a hazardous material. Some such information is likely to be posted as a label on the product. It might also be posted on the manufacturer's Web site. An international organization whose members are hundreds of manufacturers of art materials, the Art & Creative Materials Institute (ACMI), authorizes the placement of its seals ? AP and CL ? on packaging, in order to inform consumers of the safety and hazards of those products. In the United States the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is the federal agency that specifies what information must be given on the label and MSDS for every material that OSHA has classified as hazardous.Other resources concerning material safety: Vermont Safety Information Inc. posts links to numerous MSDSs and chemical toxicity reports. Health Hazards for the Artist is a PDF file. Also see adhesives, ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials), caustic, ergonomics, flammable, fumigation, hazardous, package, pigment, poison, preparator, solvent, toluene, toxic, volatile, and xylene.

Download the Brave Browser and get $5 in the cryptocurrency BAT!!
The Brave Browser pays you in BAT (Basic Attention Token) to allow them to display their ads, which you can then use the BAT you earn to tip content creators or just exchange for another crypto. I'm making about $15 a month just from the ads, which are very non-intrusive, and all while simply using the Internet as I normally would. Brave comes with a built in script blocker and ad blocker so it's also very fast and very safe. I opened Firefox the other day and regretfully remembered what a monster it is on resources.
If you download and use Brave as your Internet browser using this link we both get $5 in BAT!!
