Term: Historically informed
Definition: a
performance that is guided by surviving information on the way the piece would have originally sounded or on the way the composer intended for it to sound. A historically- informed performance may use period instruments, follow period techniques, adopt a particular approach to ornamentation, adhere to other conventions of articulation, timbre, ensemble size, acoustical circumstances, etc. See performance practice.
