Wednesday Walk Along Two Trails!

in #wednesdaywalk7 years ago

My walk today is along the Jerusalem Mill trail and the Jericho Covered Bridge trail. They are both in the Kingsville, Maryland area and are part of the Gunpowder Falls State Park. Jerusalem Mill is a living history museum site. They weren't open on the day we went but the trails are open every day.

In an effort to cut back on some of my photos, I'll be putting a few in collages. In this first collage, there is an old mill stone and a sign noting that Jerusalem Mill is also the Headquarters of Gunpowder Falls State Park.

A scenic area by the Mill! They have picnic tables and also host events here sometimes.

It was a great day to go fishing and this seemed like a popular spot.

The trail has a few little bridges so people can get over some watery areas.

I loved hearing the water from most of the trails.

This was a little rail that was on a very short part of the trail. I wish I had looked around more to see if there was a reason for it but I was kinda busy trying not to trip over all the tree roots. 😀

Question! Does it make anybody else extremely nervous when having to walk under trees like these?

I came across a few mushrooms and flowers.

This was a view from a hill.

A lot of trees had these tree guards around the trunks. I wondered if they were there to deter wildlife from damaging them.

This photo shows another view of the Mill from the water.

My very last photo is to show off the pretty flower bush.

I almost forgot i was in the office in the city and felt a was transformed away to this beautiful area with all these wonderful photos those steps down the hill were interesting I love seeing covered bridges,
Surely looks like a popular spot for fishing

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)

You're welcome and thank you so much @tattoodjay!! It sure was a beautiful area and there was another picnic area on the other side but I didn't get over there but there's always next time..hopefully..lol. I think the state released trout the day before but only allowed to catch and release on this day. 🎣 😉

I like when states or city’s setup trout for catch and release, fishing is so popular but somehtignI have never got into standing in one spot for that long to catch. Fish is never something I will get into LOL

Lol..I used to like to go fishing many years ago but it was usually catch and eat..hee hee! 🍽️

Well that is better I am sure

That is a very nice park! So green, with what look like nice trails. And water as well. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much @lordvdr!! It was so nice and a perfect day to go..nice weather and not crowded. 🙂

Thank you so much @helpiecake and @solominer!! Means a lot to me and I appreciate it very much!! 💖

A beautiful area Dee and the photos are great. I can’t believe all the tree roots across the path...no wonder you had to watch your step. Love the old mill with the red paint and rocks on the front.

Thank you so much Jo!! I think the roots are out to get me..lol! The area is so pretty. That is one thing I can say for sure about my state is that we have a lot of parks and trails and most are very well maintained. Have a happy and safe trip to your sisters house! 💞

Beautiful photos for your Wednesday Walk! I love that covered bridge, and the mill is very picturesque.

Thank you so much @melinda010100!! The covered bridge was renovated not very long ago but they kept it much the same which was great to see. :)

I like to join you in your walks. There is so much to be seen.

Thank you so much @nelinoeva!! Still so much more to show! 😉

You are most welcome! :-)
