FAMILY BOND

My parents finally got me after my mom´s fourth pregnancy.... and they tried two more times for a girl, but she only gave birth to two more boys. As a kid between 3 & 7, I was trailing my three older brothers wherever they went. A vivid scene was at a creek, where they all dove into the water using the duhat tree that dropped horizontally which they used as a diving platform. I was just sitting on the trunk and waited for them to finish while I swayed my feet slashing the water beneath from where I was sitting. Oh how lucky they were, I thought. I love adventures, although the sea frightened me for I never learned to swim as a kid and most especially when my feet didn´t touch the ground while under water. And because I was always with them most of the time, people around me thought I was a tomboy.

Libraries were my fave spots in school. I love to read books about Literature, crime stories, archaeology and crafting anything that has something to do with hands. My Dad was a great carpenter and by simply watching him worked on a project, he made me feel that working with wood was so easy and simple if you only had the know how , tools , materials and improvisation. It was in this fascination that I also made few tiling and small wooden projects I called my own, links of which you can see below:

My childhood days with 5 brothers were fun and full of adventures. . On the other hand, growing with five brothers seemed a bit unfair, since it was my duty to be in the kitchen and had been "assigned" to cook before I could play outside with friends. But, I was so thankful at mother´s being strict. These days, I can improvise in cooking whatever ingredients are available and whenever a spontaneous necessity arises, thanks to Mom. A handywoman is what I describe myself because I like restoring things around the house and simply love the challenges of things being repaired by myself. I am awesome in decorating, saving a lot of money because I do all the projects myself.

THE CORPORATE WORLD

I was a working student on my last year in college when I joined the corporate world in the auditing department of a prestigeous company in Manila. It was not an easy task to be working full time and at the same time having night school. There were times the stress was too much that I wanted to leave my full time job right on the spot. As always, I retained my composure, went on with my work and finished my studies. I guess I would say never to give up on anything, as it pays in the end to complete the task even if it meant sacrifices. In Europe, I learned the language of my host country , it was more of a necessity to speak properly and be able to land on a decent job to earn a living and somehow support my family a bit back home.

ON ANIMAL CRUELTY

My heart goes to all abandoned animals who were left on their own, dumped in ditches and garbage containers or even as baits to catch big fishes by cruel fishermen or by letting grey hounds ran at betting stations and when these dogs became old and slow, they were exported to Spain and have them get hanged there. I am an advocate to end the bullfighting, such a senseless activity by Spaniards of bloody torturing the bulls killing them slowly while the audience in the arena clap their hands whenever a spear gets stuck into the back of the poor animal. How I wish the audience could feel in reality all the pains inflicted on those bulls before tumbling down with their last breath onto the ground.

EUROPE

The first couple of years was hard for me being an Asian who didn´t speak the language. In those days 35 years ago, asian women have had difficulties mingling in public at the height of the Feminist Movement. The divorce rate in Europe at that time was high because white women demanded equal rights as their men. With perseverance, education and learning the local language , the situation improved as years went by and I landed as station accountant for two big american corporations in Vienna. One of the two is a chemical giant and is very controversial in the field of Agriculture.I landed as station accountant for two big american corporations in Vienna. One was a chemical giant that is now very controversial in the field of agricilture and the other an airline company

STEEMIT
As a noob here on steemit, I´ve had the chance to meet a lot of wonderful and interesting people with different backgrounds in a short span of time. I came to know a lot of honest steemians who are humble in their own way relating their life stories to public so others could learn from them. I love the idea of homesteading since it was a dream that I never made into a reality. What good life it would be to be living independently under a sustainable natural environment, breathing fresh air and hoping that every war would finally end.

Thanking Terry boy @surpassinggoogle for this wonderful chance... you made it possible for us to express what we ought to be ... to be ourselves in our own way!

Thank you all for reading..
