Dear #uloggers and #steemit friends! Hello! How was your day?

This is how my day went...

Yesterday, we were able to bring some of our old things to the Caritas. This is part of my clean up project of our things. We were able to bring 3 boxes of children's books and 2 boxes of clothes only. There are a lot of things still left in our apartment and we will bring them also to the same charity in the following Sundays as we cannot bring them all together. The books and clothes are still in good condition.

The things that are donated in the Caritas were also being sold at a low price so that it will become money. It is just like "ukay-ukay" in the Philippines. The proceeds are being use to buy foods for the homeless. Every Monday there is a gathering near the church for the homeless,helpless and poor. They feed them and give a food supply ("rasyon") for a few days. Some of the proceeds are being donated to different institutions, and some are used in the Church.

All the things here are all donations. These things are selected they make sure that all of the used things are in good condition and not abused.

This institution also helped me when I was still pregnant with my youngest daughter. They gave us things for the baby from clothes, crib and even carseat and stroller for free. Some are brand new with tags. They also communicate with us up to now making sure that the kids are okay. Maria Rosa, the old woman who is the head of the church charity wasn't there yesterday. She is very kind, helpful and very compassionate.

The Caritas Mercatino (Charity store) is located just beside the church. It is open every Sunday and Monday only from 8am to 12nn.

I think this is a very good idea for the church to have funds. When I go home to the Philippines, I will try to open the idea to my auntie so she can relay it to our parish priest.
