Travel Digest #331

Introduction

Hello all, @livinguktaiwan here! Today's #traveldigest is a bit earlier than usual as I want to post it before the hardfork which will be happening in an hours time as I write. The other thing I want to say is, you may have noticed that the auto comments from @streemitworldmap aren't appearing. We're looking into that, but don't worry, you post is pinned to the map and we are reveiwing all posts when we curate.

All featured posts will be upvoted through @steemitworldmap.
All featured posts will be put on the Editors Choice Map.

Travel Digest

#1 Dettifoss, The Greastest Volume Waterfall In Europe

The first featured post is from @greedyforce, he went to Dettifoss in Iceland. This is Europe's biggest waterfall in terms of flow volume and is 45 meters high and 100 meters wide. He had to drive 40km on gravel roads to get there. The canyon, where the waterfall drops, is as fascinating as the waterfall itself. And from the photos, you can feel the force of the 500 cubic meters of water plunging over the edge per second . Apparently, if someone falls in there, they will get crushed like a bug in seconds. Stay away from the edge!!!

#2 It Once Was A National Park, But No More - State & National Park Series

@xcountytravelers went to the Platt National Park in Oklahoma in USA. Did you know back in 1914, this was the smallest in the National Park System, but received more visitors than Yellowstone or Yosemite? Well you do now. The park has now been developed and expanded and includes springs, a swimming hole with a man-made waterfall and three camping sites. The guys have been there a few times over the years, hiking the trails, swimming and even jumped off the the top of the man made waterfall!

#3 Yanawa Temple in Bangkok and its weird looking tropical fruit!

Our last featured post is from @waybeyondpadthai. She went to a temple that she actually found out from another Steemian, which was 10 minutes away from where she lives. The temple is really cool, and has a unique junk shaped chedi and viharn. Not being a temple person, her mission was really to go see the bananas, or specifically weird banana.. Yep, you heard me right, that's her own words. If you want to know who weird they are, check out her post.
