Hi. It's @choogirl here. It's another glorious summer's day in Brisbane, so I thought I'd bring you some posts from cold places since it's the exact opposite of what I'm experiencing.

#1 Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden

@nikonmarshall is back with another story about his time living in Sweden. Today he takes us to an ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi, in the country's north. This hotel is rebuilt every year with ice blocks carved from the nearby Torne River. Artists then submit ideas to a panel of judges, who select around 50 to individually decorate the church (where you can get married), Absolut Icebar, reception, main hall and suites. The hotel temperature is a 'cosy' -5°C (23°F) but you can stay in rooms that aren't made of ice if that's a tad too chilly.

#2 Krakow, Poland

@amikphoto then takes us to Poland's second largest city, Krakow. Inbetween all the beautiful photographs, he provides us with an overview of the city's rich history and descibes what it's like being there. Being Russian, @amikphoto naturally touches on some of the rivalries that exist between Poland and Russia. This includes the ongoing battle over who invented vodka, and what happened when he ordered borscht/borsch in Poland compared to at home.

#3 Zermatt, Switzerland

Finally, we're in Switzerland to experience a white Christmas in Zermatt with @stabilowl. This picturesque resort town is accessible via The Glacier Express, which is fitted with large glass windows to provide unobstructed views of the mountains along the way. The town has everything you would expect to see, including a giant Christmas tree, carolers, shops selling chocolate, horse carriages, and children tobogganing in the street. If the weather is good, you also get a nice view of the Matterhorn.
