Travel Digest #39

in #traveldigest7 years ago (edited)

Hi. It's @choogirl here bringing you the 39th edition of #traveldigest. Well, this is my last post for a while. @martibis is back in Belgium and will taking over again. I've enjoyed the last 16 days but I am looking forward to taking a break—daily blogging is hard! That said, you haven't seen the last of me and I will continue to be a part-time author of the #traveldigest.

As always, all posts featured here will be put on our Editors Choice Map. If you want to learn more about Steemit Worldmap, you can check the introduction post or check the FAQ section on the website!

1. Travel Blog: Zlot Caves - Heaven under the Ground

We start today with @dejan.vuckovic, who takes us to Zlot—or Lazar's Cave—in Eastern Serbia. This is not only the country's longest explored cave (9.4km), but also one of the most beautiful. The guided tour takes around half hour, in which time you are introduced to the Weapon's Room, Fairy’s Town and Concert Hall. It's hard to believe that some of the cave ornaments are actually made of stone, for example the frozen stone waterfalls. Additionally, each place has its own amazing story or legend.

2. Meeting the Neighbors in Llanes | The Roving Vlogger Day 10 (2017-10-09)

We then head to Spain with @therovingreader, who takes us to Llanes, a traditional fishing village dating back to the 13th century. The principality of Llanes is home to 32 beautiful sandy beaches, two of which are in the centre of town. As she walks along the grassy seaside promenade, ocean and dramatic rock formations are on one side, while a valley of green pastures, scattered terracotta rooftops, and the Picos de Europa mountains are on the other.

3. Let me take you to Paris 3/3

Finally we head to Paris, France with @theaustrianguy. He takes an evening walk around the lively Île de la Cité—home of the Notre Dame Cathedral, before meandering among the artists at Montmartre the next morning. After breakfast he ascends the beautiful basilica Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre for some breathtaking views of the city. Next he heads to the iconic Eiffel Tower before visiting the Lego store to find Lego builds of Paris' famous buildings.
