#1 USA roadtrip #27: It never rains in Death Valley Nationalpark [EN|GER]

How hot do you think the hottest place in the world is? How about 56.7°C? That's where @roadtrips went, the Death Valley in the US. In fact they liked it so much that this is their second trip. The Death Valley is a national park and has a lot of interesting features. Starting from Badwater Basin which is the lowest point of the US, then we have the Devil's Golf Course which is covered in razor-sharp salt crystals, I wonder if anyone has managed a birdie there? You can go for a mile long walk along the beautiful Golden Canyon, or surf down the 50m high Mesquite Sand Dunes. And finally check out the Zabriskie Point, apparently the view of this bizarre erosion landscape is especially popular at sunrise and sunset.

#2 SURFING IN MUNICH - YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT !

That's what I thought when I read the title, surfing in Munich, really? Turns out @planetus wasn't kidding. Right in the middle of Munich is Englishcher Garten and at 3.7km2 big, that's one of the largest urban public parks in the world. The park includes several lakes, rivers, hills and even some small waterfalls. A bit further on is a Chinese Tower where the surrounding area is Munich's second largest beer garden which sits 7000 people!!! Last and not the least, the surfing that we were promised. That happens at an artificial river called Eisbach where the waves goes up to 1m high and have rocks that occasionally pop up. So if you're not an experienced surfers, just watching them is still quite an experience.

#3 Somewhere in Europe #18: Drachenfels, Germany (Looking for the dragon and the Rhine treasure...)

Still in Germany, we head over to Drachenfels near Cologne. Drachenfels means Dragon's Rock where @r00sj3 caught the 1.5km long train ride to the top of the hill. From there it was another short walk to the very top to check out the ruins and enjoy the views of the Rhine. The Drachenburg castle is mid way en route back down to Cologne, and was built in the 19th century by a rich guy who wanted to show off his wealth. Well, he did a good job of it as it is a stunning castle with amazing views. You can even climb up the tower to get even better view of the area.

Thank you so much @livinguktaiwan for the honorable mention!! But just so you know, my post is from California, USA. It's in the Sierra "Nevada " mountains but it's actually in California not Nevada. When they were naming stuff out here they weren't always very creative so lots of the same names get repeated over and over. It can make things quite confusing. lol.

woops! Corrected. You always go on awesome hikes!

Congratulations to featured Steemians!

Can I ask you if my post was added properly to the steemitworldmap? I have done it for the first time but not sure if it worked.
